Take the Johnny Depp Movie-Hair Quiz

In the sci-fi thriller Transcendence, which opens this weekend, Johnny Depp spends the majority of his time onscreen inside a computer. (It’s a long story, but basically he is inside a computer.) Though we get to see a digitized version of him, it’s not the same thing. When you see a Johnny Depp movie, you’re partly paying to see what his face and hair look like. From 1990’s Cry-Baby through last year’s The Lone Ranger, something is always going on with his head. So we wanted to test how familiar you are with the comings and goings of Johnny Depp’s follicles. In Vulture’s Johnny Depp Movie-Hair Quiz, you’ll be shown fifteen haircuts and you have to pick which movie it’s from. Luckily, right or wrong, you’ll get to see that handsome mug of his. Good luck!

Johnny Depp Photo Album revised, updated an now you can win!

The Johnny Depp Photo Album, by Christopher Heard, was just updated and out in UK, and coming out in US in 2 days. The Publisher Plexus is sponsoring for us a giveaway of two copies WORLDWIDE. To get a chance to win one of the two copies, write a comment to this post with just one word describing Johnny Depp’s look (as it is a photo album) that noone before has written, within a week.

The Johnny Depp Photo Album, Edited by Christopher Heard, Revised and Updated, is basically a biography through his life, just with lots of pictures and quotes.  Already the titles of Contents such as “Johnny Depp Taking Risks”, “Johnny Depp Gonzo”, “Johnny Depp Papa”, “Johnny Depp On The Horizon” show how much a piece of art this book is. The book starts with a quote about his early life, love and marriage, and continues with chronolocical sorted pics, more of the most interesting sentences he’s said or were said about him (also new ones), and a biography, long enough to have everything you need to know included, but short enough that you don’t get bored. It ends with a preview on Johnny’s upcoming movies.
A bonus point: the book doesn’t show any Paparazzi pics or even pics of the kids, even if one chapter is about “Johnny Depp Papa”.

Johnny Depp biography by Denis Meikle & giveaway

Recently, May 6th, released the 5th (revised and updated) edition of “Johnny Depp, the bestselling biography”, written by Denis Meikle,

The life of one of the worlds most highly sought after actors is brilliantly explored in this exciting biography, published to coincide with the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.   Acclaimed critic Denis Meikle traces Hollywood star Johnny Depp’s evolution from teen pin-up to cinematic icon from his first film appearance in A Nightmare On Elms Street, his roles in films such as Ed Wood and Donnie Brasco, through his collaborations with Tim Burton, and his iconic role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean blockbusters, and beyond.   With examinations of his life both on and off screen, Meikle explores the effect that Depp’s critical and commercial stature have had on the direction of his career, and has updated the book to include a foretaste of the forthcoming movies, Rango, The Rum Diaries and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stanger Tides.
