In November 2016, an ensemble of A-list actors and directors collaborated to bring 16-year-old Anthony Jonathan Conti’s cinematic vision to life. Conti, facing stage 4 adrenal cortical cancer, co-wrote and starred in The Black Ghiandola, a zombie apocalypse story. Directed by industry veterans like Catherine Hardwicke and Sam Raimi, the project was supported by Johnny Depp, J.K. Simmons, Laura Dern, and others. This heartfelt production was facilitated by the Make A Film Foundation, which empowers young people with serious illnesses to create legacy films. The Black Ghiandola premiered on April 22, 2017.
