We have some thrilling updates for all Johnny fans! Paramount has just unveiled the first footage of “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol,” a fresh adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved novella. Directed by the talented Ti West, this film promises a unique take on the classic story.
In this adaptation, we follow Ebenezer Scrooge, the iconic miser who is visited by the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. These encounters compel him to reflect on his life and seek redemption.
The footage previewed in Las Vegas showcased Johnny as the elderly Scrooge, complete with prosthetics, shouting the memorable line, “Ba, humbug!” as he meets the three transformative ghosts. It’s clear that Johnny has truly embraced this role, bringing his own magic to a timeless character.
Johnny expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “It’s an extraordinary privilege to step into a story I have been obsessed with since I was a little child.” He further reflected on the legacy of Scrooge portrayals, mentioning how he felt inspired by the legendary performance of Alastair Sim. “I think Ti really did something very special,” he added, highlighting the creative direction of the film.
Set to be released on November 13, “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol” is produced by Paramount in collaboration with Domain Entertainment. The film also features a stellar cast, including Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, and Ian McKellen, among others.
