Tim Burton
About the Film
This documentary showcases how Tim Burton brings his singular visions to life — his gift for melding the ominous and the frightful with a sense of childlike whimsy. Conceived as a four-part docuseries chronicling the acclaimed director’s decades-long career, it gathers many of his best-known collaborators to tell the story.
Among them is Johnny Depp, Burton’s on-screen surrogate across so many of his greatest films. Directed by Tara Wood (21 Years: Richard Linklater), the project premiered on June 10, 2024 and was taken to Cannes for distribution.
Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp appears as himself, reflecting on his long creative partnership with Tim Burton — the director for whom he has been a recurring leading man and on-screen alter ego, from Edward Scissorhands through Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland and beyond.
