Pirates of the Caribbean 4 – On Stranger Tides
About the Film
Around 1750, Captain Jack Sparrow finds himself in London, hauled before King George II and pressed to lead an English expedition to the fabled Fountain of Youth before the Spanish can claim it. Jack escapes, only to be shanghaied aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the fearsome Blackbeard — where he comes face to face with Angelica, a former lover and the pirate’s fiercely capable daughter.
Forced into the hunt, Jack learns that the Fountain’s ritual demands more than its waters: two silver chalices from Ponce de León’s lost ship and the tear of a mermaid. As Blackbeard, the Spanish crown and Jack’s old rival Barbossa all converge on the prize, alliances shift and a gentle romance blossoms between a captured mermaid and a captive missionary. In the end Jack outwits Blackbeard at the Fountain itself, sparing Angelica and slipping away to reclaim his freedom — and his beloved Black Pearl.

Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow takes centre stage in the franchise’s fourth outing, freed from the ensemble of the original trilogy to headline his own treasure hunt. Wittier and more self-reliant than ever, Jack matches wits with Blackbeard while navigating the complicated history he shares with Angelica — a rare adversary who can out-scheme and out-charm him — all delivered with Depp’s trademark swagger and sly comic timing.
