Pirates of the Caribbean 2 – Dead Man’s Chest
About the Film
A year after escaping the gallows, Captain Jack Sparrow discovers that his freedom came at a price: long ago he struck a bargain with Davy Jones, the monstrous captain of the Flying Dutchman, and now the debt has come due. To dodge an eternity of servitude — and the terrifying Kraken that Jones commands — Jack sets off in search of the fabled Dead Man’s Chest, which holds Jones’s still-beating heart and, with it, the power to control him.
Meanwhile Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann are arrested on their wedding day by the ruthless Lord Cutler Beckett, who offers to spare them in exchange for Jack’s magical compass. Their paths collide in a wild chase across the Caribbean, tangled up with old enemies, Will’s cursed father “Bootstrap Bill,” and betrayals on all sides. The adventure ends in tragedy as the Kraken drags Jack and the Black Pearl down to the depths — and the resurrection of a familiar face promises a rescue to come.

Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow, the swaggering, silver-tongued pirate whose survival instinct is matched only by his talent for making enemies. Here Jack is at his most cornered and self-serving, dodging a supernatural debt while scheming to turn every situation to his advantage — yet Depp keeps the character’s roguish charm and impeccable comic timing front and centre, cementing Sparrow as one of the most beloved roles of his career.
