Johnny arrived in Oshkosh Friday evening
to the delight of 150 spectators.
Escorted to the set in front of Basler
Flight Service hangar Johnny arrived about
7pm.
Filming is expected to move to the Main
Street on Monday where they expect to see
thousands of spectators.
Filming is scheduled from sundown to sun up.

Filming is set to begin today.
Streets have been transformed into the
1930s era ready for filming to start.
“It’s going to be in several areas.
There’s going to be some staging.
When they’re done in one area they’re
going to take the cobblestone and move
it to another area, so it’s pretty labor
intensive as well,” Jon Urben, Oshkosh’s
director of media services, said.
Filming will last a little more than a week.
The city reminds drivers to be aware of the
street closures and to expect more pedestrians
while filming is taking place.

Hundreds of Depp fans staying past midnight
and waiting several days were rewarded for
their patiences as Johnny made his way to
them just after midnight.
It was controlled chaos as fans waited to
shake his hand or be lucky enough to get a
hug. Many had tears in their eyes as Johnny
passed them. Everyone agreed it was well
worth the wait even though it was raining
Johnny spent extra time with those who waited
several days some since Saturday.
Monday when Johnny actually arrived there was
thousands waiting but the hundreds that toughed
it out were rewarded for their efforts.
Johnny was very attentive to his fans while
meeting them and then gave a final wave from his
SUV waiting for him.

Filming in Oshkosh Begins Friday
Filming will begin Friday and run for about
10 days. There will be three street closures
from Thursday to April 20th.
Public Enemies is slated for release in 2009.
Johnny has been very good about meeting with
fans so if you plan to head to Oshkosh to watch
filming and try to meet him be sure to be quiet
during filming and stay behind barriers set up,
photos without flashes are allowed.

Hundreds of people were once again standing on
ready to see Johnny Sunday. He did not make an
appearance but according to those involved with
the filming said that Sunday was just set up day.
Katy Krekel from Louisville, KY was again waiting
to see Depp she has been a Depp fan since she was
5 and is most impressed with Depp’s integrity.
She was lucky enough to meet Depp in Crown Point
and got her arm signed then rushed to the nearest
tattoo parlor to make it permanent.
Megan Granko of Rockford and Felicia Schellenberger
have not been so lucky they have been close a few
times but are determined. Granko said Depp “radiates
inspiration” and also that he is “one of the most
real people you’re ever goig to meet.” She will not
sleep till she meets Depp but believes it will happen
in Aurora.
“I just want him to know me,” she said. “I want to feel
his vibes, his aura.”
Word on the street is Depp will arrive this morning and
most filming will take place inside.

Also Johnny was expected to do a meet and greet at the Theater Monday at 7:00 p.m.
There was also talk that he might emerge from the Theater around 4:30 to sign autographs and greet the crowd outside.
