Johnny Depp Presents “The People’s Artist”

A Major New Art Competition for Emerging Creators!

Exciting news for Johnny Depp fans and art lovers alike! Johnny is lending his name and passion to an inspiring new initiative called The People’s Artist, now live at peoplesartist.org.

Billed as “A celebration of imagination,” this is a nationwide art competition presented by Johnny Depp himself. As a lifelong creative force-not just in film and music, but also through his own visual art-Johnny is inviting artists everywhere to step forward, showcase their unique vision, and use creativity to drive meaningful social impact and community healing.

Here’s what it’s all about:

  • One standout artist will be crowned The People’s Artist Champion!
  • The winner receives $25,000 in prize money.
  • They’ll get a feature appearance in the prestigious Artforum Magazine (a leading voice in contemporary art since 1962).
  • Their work will be displayed in an exclusive exhibit at The Art of Elysium’s Salon in Los Angeles-a space dedicated to fostering community, creativity, and art as a tool for healing (The Art of Elysium has been doing this important work since 1997).

The competition is run in partnership with Artforum, The Art of Elysium, and Colossal (a professional fundraising group focused on advocacy through online competitions). Registration is free, and it’s open to creators who want to be seen and make a difference through their art.

Johnny’s personal touch shines through in the announcement: he brings his deep passion for artistic expression to the project, encouraging artists to “show us what only you can create” and support positive change in the world.

This comes at a great time, as Johnny has been increasingly sharing his own artwork with the world-from his recent immersive exhibition A Bunch of Stuff to various collaborative pieces and prints. It’s clear his love for visual art runs deep, and now he’s helping shine a spotlight on others!

Head over to https://peoplesartist.org/ to learn more, register if you’re an artist (or share it with creative friends), and follow along for updates on submissions and the eventual winner.

  • Uploading photos to the application I started last night.
This is an incredible opportunity and I respect you so much for taking this on.
Oh and don’t judge the website too heavily…
It’s been a massive work in progress and no photos of work have been uploaded yet.
A little overwhelmed by it and need to hammer down.

    • Hello Carrie, you have to apply for that on the website peoplesartist.org, because they have this competition. We’re just forwarding the news. But I like your kind of art. Because Nature gives us more art than humans could ever create. Good luck!

  • Hey Johnny,it’s your buddy x?…How do i get into the contest and send my picture to you?

  • i entred but i think i represented the wrong media, i do multiple types of creations and i would like to re enter using another one of my formats , the wooden tablee, which i think is thinking way out of the box

  • I’m all for charity and community, but I think it’s important to be honest about what this contest actually is. A public‑voting model rewards visibility, not emerging talent. If the intention is fundraising, that’s great — just say that. But presenting it as a search for undiscovered artists feels misleading when the outcome depends on who can generate the most clicks, not on the work itself.

  • Hello my name is Jen Nowalk. Yes ive been accepted along with many many other artists for the 2026 People’s Artist. Id just like to voice my appreciation to Johnny Depp and to the people in charge of the People’s Artist. Its given me a wonderful chance to learn and also view beautiful art from all over. I hope others realize how much this brings people together and to have a chance to work in a positive direction to help make this planet the beautiful place it deserves for letting us all exist upon it. Thanks again Much Love ❤️

  • Art is for the people, by the people! Nothing makes me happier than seeing one of my students made a piece and I can see the sparkle in their eyes! They have found a way to make their lives better through art.

If anyone wants to check it out if you like it vote for me🤓 my link above 🥰

  • PLEASE HELP!!! I shared my link that was provided for voting to multiple groups on Facebook and Meta has flagged them all accusing me of “cybersecurity” (word for word) “We don’t allow people to promote or provide services that enable malicious links or hacking.
    This includes things like:
    • Providing web hosting that enables people to share a lot of malicious links
    • Promoting hacking services
    • Buying, selling, or promoting malware or other malicious code.

Now my facebook profile has restrictions to do basically anything (until Aug 19, 2026) AND I have been suspended from Monetization. 90% of my business income comes from Facebook so this ordeal is devastating for my family. I have reached out to Meta for assistance 3 times now and everytime I ask for help the restrictions go for a longer amount of time. Please help. I don’t know what to do now.

    • Hello, I’m sorry, but we’re not a Meta support. Our own Johnny-depp.org Facebook page has been removed multiple times and the only possibility was to open a new one. Not sure there are real people working there. Feel free to publish your URL to the comments here, though 🙂 Maybe it can also help to post the issue to the guys at The People’s artist. And publish else where like Instagram (even though they are both Meta, being banned seems to be independent from each other) and X.com (I never had problems being banned from X)
