Private Resort
About the Film
Two fun-loving young friends, Jack and Ben, check into a glitzy Miami beach resort for a weekend on the hunt for sun, girls and mischief. Their carefree plans quickly go sideways when they cross paths with the Maestro, a smooth con man and jewel thief scheming to steal a wealthy guest’s diamond necklace.
What follows is a fast, farcical chase through the hotel — full of mistaken identities, narrow escapes, angry husbands and slamming doors — as the boys blunder in and out of the heist while still trying to chat up every woman in sight. A breezy 1980s teen sex comedy, it’s most notable today as an early showcase for a very young Johnny Depp.

Johnny Depp
One of Johnny Depp’s earliest film roles, made when he was barely into his twenties, casts him as Jack Marshall — the more mischievous half of the film’s girl-chasing duo. It’s light, broad comedy a world away from the character work he’d become known for, but it captures the boyish, easy charm that first got him noticed on screen.
