A German admirerer won a contest to win a change to interview Johnny. She got to interview him on the red carpet and in a private inteview with him and Tim. It is very funny and Johnny laughs alot in it.

Johnny Depp ? best actor in a comedy or musical for his turn as the murderous barber in Sweeney Todd ? thanked everyone from his costar to his family for the Golden Globe. He released the following statement:
“I would like to thank my beloved friends at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for bestowing such an honor on me. It is a humbling experience, especially in the company of such talent. For many years the HFPA has supported my work and for that I have always been truly grateful. While this is indeed a happy day for me, I am overjoyed at the recognition the film as a whole is receiving. Tim [Burton] is a dear friend and a true artist whose vision and skill inspire us all. He is a genius. Without his unwavering trust and support, I would not be anywhere near where I am today.”
“Also, big thanks and respect to Helena [Bonham-Carter], whose simply staggering performance as Mrs. Lovett is a wonder to behold. Johnny?s Angels began in March of 2007 when Donna (Giachetti) a great admirer of Johnny Depp thought of his support and giving to the (Childrens Hospice) and wondered if it would be an ?out of the way? idea to form a charity group aimed at Johnny supporters and see what would become of it. She called the Hospice and asked them what they thought of the idea and Johnny?s Angels were born.
? I believed there were many other women out there like me, Depp fans and moms, who would gladly do something more significant than buy Captain Jack trinkets if only we knew how to proceed. I thought it would be interesting to let Depp fans know more about the story behind the Dustin bracelet that Johnny wears in support of CHPCC.?

After seven previous nominations, Johnny Depp earned a 2008 Golden Globe award for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd in the category “best actor in a musical or comedy “.
And Sweeney Todd got the best movie/ musical or comedy Golden Globe.
Congratulations, Johnny and Sweeny Todd!!
Because of the writers’ strike, there was no awards ceremony as usual, so nobody actually showed up.
Johnny is right in this moment attending the Sweeney Todd film premiere held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London.

This is one of those awards that honor Johnny because like he says “The People “keep me employed” Even though Johnny of course was not present, the people made their voice known and you again came out on top Johnny!!
Although Johnny is nominated for a Golden Globe this year, he may not appear at the Golden Globes show –
Hollywood stars including all the nominated actors and actresses are set to boycott the Golden Globes ceremony in support of striking writers, jeopardising one of the entertainment industry’s most prestigious events.
He will also not be at the People’s Choice Awards on January 8th –
instead of that, the Sweeney Todd premiere in Japan will take place.
So sad, we miss the chance to see you one more time in one of your wonderful acceptance speeches, Johnny, but we support that!
