Baltimor Sun.com – Disney Cruise Line offers Mouseketeers of all ages a live look-see at the Flying Dutchman, the ship made famous in Disney’s latest flick Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, on the line’s private Caribbean island, Castaway Cay.

The film prop, with its barnacle-encrusted bow, flaunts ragged sails and imparts a bona fide look of haunting the open seas for eternity. The actual prop is anchored off Castaway Cay. It provides a scenic photo backdrop for Disney’s passengers. If you opt to rent a boat during your Castaway Cay stay, you can get an up-close look at the ghost ship.

In the film, the 175-foot ghost ship is commanded by the legendary Davy Jones, who serves as nemesis to pirate Capt. Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp.

Posted by: Aga Dembinska, Assignment Desk: NIAGARA FALLS — Like a pirate in the night, a film crew for the third “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie sneaked in and out of Niagara Falls this week. The filming was all hush-hush, but Buffalo Niagara film commissioner Tim Clark confirmed the footage was for “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.”

But sadly, Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom weren’t on location. Walt Disney Studios shot footage of the Horseshoe Falls so they can superimpose the stars in later.

Director Tim Burton has reportedly cast actress Helena Bonham Carter as the female lead in his big screen version of the Stephen Sondheim’s musical Sweeney Todd according to Sawfnews.com

She will play the role of Mrs. Lovett – a murderess who dispenses her victims’ bodies in meat pies, and becomes the passionate accomplice of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, played by Johnny Depp, reports Moviehole.

Shooting for the film begins early next year for a late 2007 release. (ANI)

Carol Darlin’ met, together with her daughter and her daughter’s best friend, Johnny Depp at the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 – camp at Guadalupe Dunes October 19th, 2006.

“(…) And then, there he was. Johnny Depp was standing four feet in front of us, smiling, looking beautiful, wearing his old leather jacket and a black beanie, with his pirate beards and some eyeliner still on. What a thrill!

My daughter’s friend was crying uncontrollably, and my daughter had a look of pure disbelief on her face. When we got our turn, Johnny took so much time with each of the girls, asking them their names and how to spell them, and wrote them each a nice long sentence and autograph. Then, he gave them each a big bear hug. We took a picture with the two girls together with him. I asked him if Mom could have a hug, too. He said, of course, and I got a great big hug from Johnny Depp. He is very affectionate and a great hugger. Gawsh! (…)”

This is the story of Carol Darlin’ meeting Johnny at the Pirates III camp at Guadalupe Dunes October 19th, 2006.

“(…)I wanted to share with you an encounter my daughter, her best friend and I had with Johnny Depp at Guadalupe Dunes last Thursday night! We drove four hours from our home after seeing pictures that DB had posted of the base camp. Even though we knew it was a risk of being disappointed.

Anyway, we arrived about 4:30. There were about four cars with some moms and kids there, and a pirate bus with some pirate type people. Maybe about 15 people in all. No one really knew anything. So, we just waited. After a while, the busses and vans started to leave the base camp. There were two really nice security guards, who weren’t allowed to tell us anything, but after a while, it was clear that Johnny was indeed there. (By the way, earlier, a KEYT 3 new guy came and talked to the kids. They are actually on the news video that someone posted earlier on the Zone.)

Just before dark, a bus suddenly stopped and out jumped Mr. Gibbs, Pintel and Regatti and the Little Person, enthusiastically smiling and all the kids got their autographs. Mr. Gibbs said “Keep to the Code,” and Pintel said, “Ello Poppet” for the kids.

This book contains the pics of the 1994 Leibovitz photo session together with one last pic never seen before. This pic is of Johnny together with a – naked, but covered by him – Kate Moss.

Toplum Postasi.net For the first time in Hollywood film production the use of the Cypriot vernacular features in the new production: Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest.

As if mimicking the Cyprus problem, two pirates on a ship at sea are arguing, one in Cypriot Greek (Kypriaka) and the other in Cypriot Turkish (Kıbrıslıca) over a hat. In the end, the two are swallowed completely by a mythical giant squid – the kraken.

British actor of Turkish Cypriot descent Nej Adamson who previously played Ali Osman in EastEnders in the 1980s plays the role of the pirate who speaks in Cypriot Turkish, while Jimmy Roussounis, a Greek Cypriot actor plays the second pirate who speaks Cypriot Greek. The two men who have never met each other before went to St.Vincent Island in the Caribbean to film the movie.

The two Cypriot actors were initially meant to perform in Greek and Turkish until Roussounis suggested that, “instead of speaking in Turkish or Greek or English with an accent”, that the two men should do it in their natural Cypriot vernacular, one inCypriotGreek and the other in Cypriot Turkish. The director agreed, allowing the two men who did not have a script, to “improvise,” as long as there was no cursing.

KillerMovies.com Sacha Baron Cohen is in talks to star opposite Johnny Depp in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd, says Production Weekly.

Cohen will play an Italian tonic salesman and barber. Although Cohen’s character appears in only two of the film’s scenes, he is a pivotal part of the story.

The project is slated to begin shooting in early February at Pinewood Studios near London.
