Dark Shadows will receive its worldwide premiere on Monday May 7 at Los Angeles’ Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
There will also be a London premiere for Dark Shadows on May 9, with the venue to be confirmed.

Johnny Depp and Bill Carter were onstage at the historic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Along with fellow friends and musicians Bruce Witkin and Joey Malone the group entertained the audience with original tunes. Bill Carter’s vocals and incredible song writing skills combined with the seasoned talent of Joey and Bruce on guitar delivered a cool, funky, enjoyable vibe. Johnny once again on snare drum and cymbal.

Yes it has finally happened! On Sunday May 13th Johnny will receive an honorary Doctorite from Western Kentucky University.
Dr. John Christopher Depp, will have a Doctorate of Fine Arts.
The degree is in honor of his study and understanding of theater and preforming arts and sciences, also including his musical talent and ability. Individuals of national or international prominence whose contributions have enhanced society as a whole.Nominations for honorary degrees are solicited from the campus community, and recipients are selected by a committee of faculty members. Western Kentucky University awards honorary degrees to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the University, the state, the nation, or the world. Recipients of honorary degrees will be recognized for their general excellence and for their extraordinary achievements in areas of human endeavor which reflect the ideals and objectives of the University.
The degree will be presented to Johnny by Professor by Cheryl Stevens the Dean of Science and Engineering at WKU.
The University is located close to Johnny’s hometown Owensboro. The Commencement Ceremony will take place at 2:30pm at RiverPark Center .
President Gary Ransdell of the univeristy will be presiding.

Local cowboys head to Colorado Springs to audition for Johnny Depp’s new movie, The Lone Ranger.

Hundreds showed up for an open casting call in Durango for the Lone Ranger on Friday.
Richard Tavenner missed his first chance to be an extra.
“I found out they was having tryouts in Santa Fe so I hitchhiked down there and found out I was late,” said Tavenner.
But this time he was first in line.
“Well I slept by the river last night and I hitch hiked from Cortez yesterday to get here,” he said. Many of the hundreds in line traveled from far away.
“It was about a six hour drive,” said Colorado Springs resident Scott Stanley.
And some even dressed the part.
“I’ve done a few movies before. My sister works in the industry so this is old hat this is what you do,” said Durango resident Rod Sweet.
Casting directors are looking for men and woman over the age of 18, all shapes and sizes with any level of experience.
The movie, starring Johnny Depp, will start filming in June and calls for hundreds of extras. People said they weren’t surprised by the large turnout.
“Well i think it’s just part of America. Any western, it’s in our lore…it’s in our history,” said Stanley.
And everyone has high hopes.
“This is like a dream for me…just even this right here is a dream for me at the moment,” said Durango resident,
