Shooting in Santa Anita Park
Preparations are underway at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia (north of LA near Pasadena) for shooting. Santa Anita will be standing in for a dog track in Florida. As we previously stated. All the alterations have been inside the park since there seems to be no need for exterior shots.
The grandstand building is like an island surrounded by miles of surface parking lots, and the parking lots are surrounded by tall chain link AND thick hedges. Base camp is inside one the many secure lots. The trailers are all lined up and it is a sea of activity.
The movie is bonded to have its principal photography completed by midnight June 30th. That means the shooting must be complete or there could be stiff penalties to follow.. With the upcoming date for the incertain actors strike looming. They must have the film complete by then.

MTV AWARDS! 2008
Johnny looks wonderful as always and happy to be there!
Johnny just won the best comedy performance award in POTC 3!!
He received a standing ovation and could barely accept this award because of all the screaming of course.
Part of his acceptance speech he said,” I don’t really know how this happened, cause you can ask anyone that knows me and I’m not a very funny person.”
Second award for the night! Best villain in a motion picture!!
he stated, “Two times in one night?that’s nutty. Wow?I have to thank all of you who voted for me. That’s really a great honor, thanks for sticking with me on this very obtuse and strange road ?I’m not particularly eloquent at the moment, but thank you so much.”
POTC3 did not win but Johnny won both of the awards he was personally nominated for!!

He was wearing of course jeans and a black button down shirt(clear buttons). His captain jack and skull rings on his right hand, his leather cuff watch on his left and nothing on his right wrist. His hair was down in his eyes like always. No glasses and no hat! And he was chewing his gum of course! A NEW TATTOO ON HIS LEFT FOREARM!!three lines of writing.
