About the Film

The sixth entry in the A Nightmare on Elm Street series sees dream-demon Freddy Krueger having wiped out nearly all the children of Springwood. A young amnesiac and a group of troubled teens, together with a counsellor who has her own buried connection to Freddy, are drawn back to the cursed town, where they uncover the secret of Freddy’s daughter and finally attempt to end his reign for good — originally in 3-D for the climax.

Seven years after his film debut in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street, Johnny Depp returned to the franchise for a brief, uncredited joke cameo — a nod to the series that launched him.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp makes a surprise uncredited cameo as the spokesman in a mock “This is your brain on drugs” anti-drug TV commercial that plays on a television in the film — a wink to fans, since Depp had made his screen debut (and been killed by Freddy) in the very first Nightmare on Elm Street.
