ANI: Calling herself embarrassingly dramatic at the age of 19 after her break up with Johnny Depp, ‘Autumn in New York’ star Winona Ryder has said that she tried to turn into an alcoholic recluse to save herself from the heartache.
A heart broken teenage Ryder, who dated the super cool pirate for four years, hinted that she resorted to sensational behaviour after her “fiercely deep love” with Depp came to an end.
The Hollywood actress further revealed that she descended into wallowing after they split in 1993, spending endless nights alone listening to Tom Waits records.
“I was embarrassingly dramatic at the time. But you have to remember I was only 19 years old”, Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
“I attempted being an alcoholic for two weeks, spending a lot of time in my hotel room, drinking screwdrivers from the mini-bar, smoking cigarettes and listening to Tom Waits”, she added.
