Rain Delays Shooting But Depp Still Meets Fans

General by Martina

Filming in Oshkosh 4-17
North Main street looked like Sioux Falls, S. D.
as filming continued Thursday. The Sioux Falls
Bank Security National Bank and Trust was robbed
by Dillinger and his gang in March 1934.

This scene involved a large scale gun battle which
includes hostages and where Depp himself is shot during
the scene, but gets up quickly to shoot an officer in
an upper floor window.

Film crews worked through lunch Thursday afternoon
hurrying to get as much done as possible as it
looked like it would rain. However, production
continued and completed about 6pm.

Depp fans had already started to line up around
3pm in hopes that Johnny would meet with fans again
as he did Monday and Wednesday. The several thousand
were rewarded as Depp came out of his trailer about
7pm and started shaking hands.

Lori Bilkey of Oshkosh had her two children in tow
waiting to meet Depp.
Depp asked Alex, 10 and Kaitlyn, 7, if they were
brother and sister because they looked alike.
“That was the coolest thing I’ve ever done,”
said Alex. His sister agreed adding that Depp
looked different than she thought he would.

Shooting will resume in downtown today and could
continue through Saturday. Several streets will
remain closed through then.

Depp Meeting Fans 04-16
Some Depp fans that waited nearly 12 hours
were rewarded for their loyalty when Johnny

Police estimated the crowd to be around 6,000 to
8,000 people.

Depp greeted as many fans as possible as he walked
down the line.

Jofflyn Zaremba, of Winneconne got a bit of extra
attention from Depp, who asked her name,
shook her hand then gave the 11 year old girl a hug.

When asked what it was like to meet him
she said “Cool”.

Despite the crowd size Depp greeted each person,
shaking their hands, and made eye contact, making
sure to tell each he was pleased to meet them.
He showed extra attention to the children.

“He’s probably the most famous man on the planet,”
Chuck Williams of Oshkosh said to his son Luke Andersen.

Security was tight and the crowd was reminded to stay
orderly and to respect the ones in front as they
had arrived early enough to get their spots.

Before Depp came out one of the security
men said Depp was nervous due to the size
of the crowd and he would not come out if
people were not orderly.

Depp emerged at 8pm it was nearly dark and more cameras flashed as he moved along.

The day I met Johnny Depp

Uncategorized by Martina

First of all, I?ve been a great Johnny Depp fan for a couple of years. When I saw him in Sleepy Hollow, even if I was only 12 years old, I knew he had something different and I wanted to know more about him. Last year I started collecting his movies and his pictures. So, when I learned Johnny was going to be in North Hatley for the filming of Secret Window, I was totally freaking out because that village is not even half an hour from where I live.

I knew he was going to be there September 15th 16th and 17th but they were school days. So, I asked my mom to go in North Hatley September the 14th for lunch cause it was my 16th birthday the week before. I was hoping Johnny would be there a day before the shooting (hey, a girl can always dream!) but he wasn?t, or at least I didn?t see him. We even went to the hotel he was staying. We asked an employee if Mr.Depp had arrived. She turned red and she said she had no idea…so maybe he was there after all! I was so dissapointed and cried on the way back home. My mom and her boyfriend felt bad for me so they asked me if I wanted to go see Once upon a time in Mexico at the movies. So we went there and on our way, I asked my mom if I could miss school and if she could take a day off from work to go back in North Hatley.
