Loading …Johnny Depp to direct biopic “Modi” with Al Pacino
Al Pacino has accepted a role in the biopic of artist Amedeo Modigliani, which will become Johnny’s second film as director and the second time, the two work together.
Al Pacino will play the role of real-life art collector Maurice Gangnat. Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio has been cast in the title role, while French actor Pierre Niney is to play fellow artist Maurice Utrillo. Modi is due to start shooting in Budapest, Hungary, in the autumn, and will be Depp’s first film as director since The Brave, released in 1997.
According to the film’s producers, “Modi” follows a chaotic series of events through the streets and bars of war-torn Paris in 1916, during which Modigliani is on the run from the police.
Born into an Italian Jewish family in Livorno, Modigliani moved to Paris in 1906 and became enamoured of the bohemian life. His best known works, of nudes with elongated limbs, were mostly painted between 1916 and 1919. Modigliani died in 1920 aged 35 from tuberculosis, a condition worsened by his erratic lifestyle. While he made little money from his work while he was alive, his paintings now command huge prices, with his 1917 work Nu Couché fetching $170.4m in 2015.
Johnny signs new Dior Deal
Variety reports, that Johnny signed another deal with Dior for $20 Million – which is much more than other actors got paid for fragrance commercials before.
It was not yet confirmed by either Dior or Johnny’s management.
The French luxury fashion house and cosmetics giant stood by Johnny Depp even when even when his legal battle Heard was still going.

Jeanne duBarry Screening / premiere Paris
Johnny was at the premiere for his latest movie Jeanne duBarry yesterday at the Cinema du Pantheon in Paris. Al Pacino was there, too, for a Donnie Brasco anniversary viewing.
The film is Depp’s first live-action project since 2020’s Minamata, though he is about to go back to work behind the camera as a director, with Pacino as a producer.
It was reported in August 2022 that Depp will direct Modigliani, a film about Italian sculptor and painter Amedeo Modigliani.
Pacino is set to produce the project alongside Depp and Barry Navidi, with production slated to begin sometime this year.

Johnny Depp in Budapest, Hungary
Johnny was in Budapest Hungary at the beginning of the week.
On Monday, a tapas restaurant called PitPit revealed that Johnny Depp visited them. The world-famous actor was unlucky and could not get a table, as the restaurant was hosting a wedding. However, a photo was taken with the staff.
The restaurant also said that during the last week, Doctor Strange and Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch also paid a visit to them and ate his dinner there.
On Tuesday, the actor showed up with guitar in hand at the Hotel Gellért, accompanied by a film crew.
According to Mandiner, it is not known exactly what the actor is doing in Budapest. However, it is certain that Johnny Depp will be in Budapest in July with his band Hollywood Vampires, so the portal says it is possible that a promotional video is being shot for that performance.
Johnny Depp’s Education Background
We all know him as ‘Captain! Captain Jack Sparrow!’, a famous American actor and musician. John Christopher Depp II, or simply Johnny Depp, was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, US, on June 9th, 1963. The future star was the youngest in the family (there were four children, including him). His parents, Betty Sue Depp and John Christopher Depp, moved a lot during his childhood and finally settled in Florida, in the city of Miramar. Depp’s parents divorced when Johnny was 15. Later his mom got married again, and his mother’s new husband was an inspiration to Johnny, according to his words.
The beginning of the path
Many people say that school influences your life enormously. For Johnny Depp, it was also accurate, but not in a traditional way. In 1979, when he was 16, the future film star was not even dreaming of becoming an actor. Since 12 years old, when he got a guitar as a present from his mom, he wanted to become a rock musician. So, he dropped out of Miramar High School to make his dream come true. But two weeks later, he tried to return, but the school’s principal told him not to and that he should follow his dream. I guess everyone would like to say ‘thank you’ to that man because who knows how everything would develop without that guy’s words. And it’s also essential that the teacher saw the potential and persuaded the teenager Depp not to give. We all need such a teacher in our life.
