Johnny Depp landed the first big role after the divorce and dometic violence allegiations drama (#johnnydeppisinnocent). After speaking out against cancel culture and accusing Hollywood of boycotting him,Johnny is set to portray King Louis XV in French director Maiwenn’s upcoming film, Variety reported.

The film is produced by Pascal Caucheteux and Gregoire Sorlat’s Why Not Productions, with Wild Bunch International handling world sales. Production will begin this year’s s, maummer, most time set at the Versailles Palace.

The movie’s title and plot have not yet been revealed, King Louis XV, who was nicknamed “the beloved,” ruled for almost 60 years before dying, after being accused of corruption.ui

Waiting for the Barbarians is a 2019 action drama film directed by Ciro Guerra in his English-language directorial debut. The film is based on the 1980 novel of the same name by J. M. Coetzee. It stars Mark Rylance, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson, Gana Bayarsaikhan, and Greta Scacchi.

The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival on September 6, 2019. It was released on August 7, 2020, by Samuel Goldwyn Films.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from film critics, who criticized the film for its execution, the film was positively welcomed from audiences who praised its story, emotional weight, cast performances (especially those of Rylance and Depp), musical score, the tone, action scenes, the screenplay, and the directing.

Plot

The Magistrate (Mark Rylance) manages an outpost on the desert frontiers of an unnamed Empire. His careful management has kept the peace for many years and there are only minor misunderstandings. All that changes with the arrival of Colonel Joll (Johnny Depp), who is acting as part of a mysterious plan set in motion by the centre of the empire. The Magistrate tries his best but Colonel Joll remains antagonistic. Colonel Joll insists on interrogating an innocent man and his nephew for sheep rustling. The two parts film will be produced by Optomen and will premiere on streaming service Discovery+.

“Through the tapes, home videos and text messages shown in court, these films give viewers a rare and important insight into a marriage that went tragically wrong, and to better understand the hugely important issue of domestic violence,” says executive producer Nick Hornby.
