The day I met Johnny Depp

Uncategorized by Martina

First of all, I?ve been a great Johnny Depp fan for a couple of years. When I saw him in Sleepy Hollow, even if I was only 12 years old, I knew he had something different and I wanted to know more about him. Last year I started collecting his movies and his pictures. So, when I learned Johnny was going to be in North Hatley for the filming of Secret Window, I was totally freaking out because that village is not even half an hour from where I live.

I knew he was going to be there September 15th 16th and 17th but they were school days. So, I asked my mom to go in North Hatley September the 14th for lunch cause it was my 16th birthday the week before. I was hoping Johnny would be there a day before the shooting (hey, a girl can always dream!) but he wasn?t, or at least I didn?t see him. We even went to the hotel he was staying. We asked an employee if Mr.Depp had arrived. She turned red and she said she had no idea…so maybe he was there after all! I was so dissapointed and cried on the way back home. My mom and her boyfriend felt bad for me so they asked me if I wanted to go see Once upon a time in Mexico at the movies. So we went there and on our way, I asked my mom if I could miss school and if she could take a day off from work to go back in North Hatley.

Johnny Wows Fans in Oshkosh

Uncategorized by Martina

Monday night Johnny took time to meet hundreds
of fans personally. Fans that were lined up by
his trailer got to meet Johnny after waiting
many hours.

“I told him he’s a class act and God bless him
and his family, and he turned around and came back,
lowered his glasses, and says, ‘God bless you,
I love you.’ It was awesome,” Mary Ann Falsetta of
Oshkosh said.

Depp shook as many hands as he could even though he
was not signing anything he made conversation.

I was not expecting this at all. This was a total
surprise. I was, it was amazing. I never expected
to meet him. I’ve been waiting for this as long as
I can remember,” Lauren Seckar of Oshkosh said.

“His hands are very warm,” Marie Kruschwitz laughed
and laughed, “but he’s just very gentle, very shy, I think.”

Depp spent 30 minutes greeting fans as he walked up
and down a city block to those who waited were well
rewarded.

Michelle Falsetta smiled and wiped away a tear and
she said, “I told him, you don’t know how much this means
to us, you being here, and he turned around and said,
“You don’t know how much you guys mean to me.’
She was tired and hurting after waiting so long but
it was completely worth it she stated.

Fans Devoted to Depp in Oshkosh

Uncategorized by Martina

Even though Mann was on set no one seemed
to take notice as devoted Depp fans waited
for a glimpse of Johnny except for occasionally
chanting Johnny! Johnny! Johnny! they mostly waited in
silence. Streetwise was taken by surprise by this
devotion to Johnny. They have no desire to see
Hollywood in action unless it involved Johnny.

Excited breaks out as a simple wave finally comes
their way from an SUV as Depp returned to the
Masonic Temple to shoot a scene involved cheers and
ended in a mad dash to the filming front lines.
This simple gesture seemed to make the crowd happy
even though it was just a simple wave. They were
satisfied that Johnny knew they were there and
that he appreciates them. Streetwise feels he made
their day.

Depp Grateful to Fans After 12 Hours of Filming

Uncategorized by Martina

After 12 hours of filming Depp fans that have
waited around for two days didn’t lack excitement to
finally see Johnny. Waiting hours in the rain
was rewarded as Johnny made his way to greet fans.
Spending time with everyone he could being very
gracious to them.

I was impressed by Depp after 12 hours shooting
one scene over and over again he must have been
exhausted but he was unfailingly gracious.
I can see why people follow Depp everywhere. He
made everyone’s wait well worth it.

This is how I met Johnny Depp

Ok. Johnny Depp is one of the best actors ever. So when I found out that parts of Public Enemies were going to be filmed in Oshkosh Wisconsin I could not believe it. And better yet out of all the actors in the world, my favorite actor was coming to the small city where I live! They started filming at the airport late friday night. Then on monday afternoon (April 14th, 2008) I came downtown to watch the filming and possibly see Johnny. They were filming a scene with johnny out front of the Oshkosh Public Libary. He was standing on the outside of the car along with a couple of other actors. In the background extras were waiting in the cold. Behind the extra’s were two old fashioned cars going in a circle on the cobblestone street that had been layed out. Suddenly we all herd a voice that yelled “action!” The next thing I knew was that the car Johnny was on was coming twords us. The extra’s started to walk up the street and everyone herd gunshots being fired. Johnny was shooting at the extra’s. The extra’s then ducked. Johnny came on the car close enough to see his face. He smiled, waved and held up the gun. They kept on filming the same scene, so my mother and I decided to move down by the libary. After waiting about 20 minutes the police said Johnny would be doing a meet and greet across from the movie trailers.

Filming in Oshkosh Starts Today

Uncategorized by Martina

Filming is set to begin today.
Streets have been transformed into the
1930s era ready for filming to start.
“It’s going to be in several areas.
There’s going to be some staging.
When they’re done in one area they’re
going to take the cobblestone and move
it to another area, so it’s pretty labor
intensive as well,” Jon Urben, Oshkosh’s
director of media services, said.
Filming will last a little more than a week.

The city reminds drivers to be aware of the
street closures and to expect more pedestrians
while filming is taking place.
