As if box office returns weren’t indicator enough, a new survey has revealed that Johnny Depp is America’s favorite actor.
The Oscar-nominated “Pirates of the Caribbean” star topped the annual Harris Poll, which surveyed 2,237 adults online for a week in early December. It’s the second year in a row that Depp has finished on top of the survey.

The shooting starts in February for the long-awaited Lone Ranger movie starring Johnny Depp as Tonto, a project that once appeared to be doomed.
On Friday, Gov. Susana Martinez announced the movie will begin production in New Mexico.

Countdown To The 2012 Golden Globe Awards
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Friday night that the trio are among the latest to join the list of presenters, as are Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Channing Tatum, Jane Fonda, Harrison Ford, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Dustin Hoffman, Emily Blunt, Johnny Depp, Colin Firth and several others.
It will be broadcast live coast-to-coast on NBC from 5-8 p.m. PT/8-11 p.m. ET from the Beverly Hilton, with a pre-show airing between 4-5 p.m. PT/7-8 p.m. ET.
‘Rango’ won the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Animated Feature! ‘Hugo’ won for Best Art Direction.
