JOHNNY Depp checked out the hit revival of “Sweeney Todd” last weekend, prompting speculation that Edward Scissorhands would soon swap his shears for a razor and some Barbasol.
Depp is indeed interested in playing the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, but on the big screen, not on Broadway.
He and director Tim Burton are fans of the Stephen Sondheim musical and have been discussing the possibility of doing a movie version.

Zee News – Los Angeles, Feb 14: British starlet Keira Knightley revealed that her “Pirates of the Caribbean” co-stars including heartthrob Johnny Depp were making fun of her for winning an Oscar nomination.
“He just laughed at me,” Knightley said when asked what Depp’s reaction had been when he learned of her nomination while the pair were filming the two “Pirates” sequels in the Bahamas.
“They’ve all been taking the piss out of me mercilessly,” she joked to reporters at a luncheon thrown in Beverly Hills for this year’s crop of Oscar nominees, referring to her cast members’ poking fun at her.
“Every time I do a take, they go, ‘is that an Oscar-nominated take, then?’”

According to the description on the steering wheel, the cereal will be “Naturally Sweetened Chocolate Pearl Shaped Cereal with Pirate Shaped Marshmallows”. The marshmallow shapes include hearts, hats, and treasurechests, kind of a Captain Jack Lucky Charms.

Johnny Depp is coming to Walt Disney World’s Pirates of the Caribbean — or at least his likeness is coming – by Scott Powers of the Orlando Sentinel
Disney will make changes this spring in the mainstay Pirates ride at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland — adding characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and updating some of the special effects.
To do so, Disney will close both rides in early March for four months. The attractions will reopen just in time for the release of the sequel movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, in late June in California and July 7 at Walt Disney World.
The movie character Capt. Jack Sparrow, portrayed by Depp, will be mixed in with the 120 robotic performers in the ride. Barbossa, Sparrow’s nemesis in the first movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, also will appear. So will a ghostly figure from the new movie, Davy Jones.
