It appears as though gamers can stash that eye patch–for now. Disney Online’s upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Pirates of the Caribbean Online, won’t be walking the plank to retail waters in 2006. According to the game’s Web site and a statement from Disney, the MMORPG will now plunder stores in 2007.
In the game, players interact with characters from the films as they strive to become the Caribbean’s most infamous pirate. Disney is sailing into uncharted waters, claiming that Pirates of the Caribbean Online will be the first MMOG “designed for kids and families.” No matter who is playing, they’ll have to have a steady income as Pirates will be charging a monthly fee.

Moldova – Sir Bob Geldof received 23 per cent of the total vote in an online poll for Best Celebrity Dad, conducted by the website remind4u.com.
Geldof’s adoration for his girls and fierce protectiveness earned him first place ahead of England football ace David Beckham, who scooped second spot with 20 per cent of the votes.
British TV chef Jamie Oliver took third place with 17 per cent of the vote. Johnny Depp, Chris Martin – whose wife has just given birth to their second child, Moses – Brad Pitt, Jude Law and Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney all made the top ten.

Ninemsn.com – Following yesterday’s story on Scarlett Johansson being voted the World’s Sexiest Woman, ninemsn asked its readers who they thought was the hottest man alive – By ninemsn staff.
The convincing winner was offbeat actor Johnny Depp, famous for wearing goofy hats and glasses, who looks like the sort of guy who wouldn’t care if people thought he was hot or not.
In second place on our hottest man poll was George Clooney. In third place was Matthew McConaughey, 36, who was also voted sexiest man alive by People magazine in 2005. Rounding out the top five are Brad Pitt in fourth and Orlando Bloom in fifth place.

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) – Keira Knightley celebrated her 21st birthday in style last night (26.03.06) – at a 1920’s themed party.
The glitzy party was held at London’s Paper nightclub and around 120 guests joined the frivolities.
The guest of honour was Keira’s new boyfriend, Rupert Friend. The pair met while filming ‘Pride and Prejudice’ last year and have been an item since December.
He was not the only man helping Keira celebrate her milestone birthday.
An insider told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Johnny Depp is close pals with Keira and sent her flowers, while Jamie Dornan has bought her some designer luggage.”

In a new book which interviews celebrities about their religious and spiritual beliefs, Anne Rice, the bestselling vampire writer and born-again Christian said she believes she’s been called to make a television series about Jesus’ life — and in her head, she’s already cast it.
“I haven’t told Johnny Depp yet, but wouldn’t he be perfect?” Rice said about the series, which she described as HBO’s “Deadwood” (her favorite show) set in Nazareth.
“It would be everything that’s going on in Jesus’ village — all the arguments, disputes, whatever –and we’d take maybe five years to get to Jerusalem,” Rice said.
“Mmmm. . . , Strong. Beautiful. Edgy. Soulful eyes,” Chicago Sun-Times reporter Cathleen Falsani writes about Depp. “A graceful person but not effeminate. Roguish yet strangely wise. Yes, Depp as Jesus — I can see it.”
