Just throwing out some little news here. Johnny was nominated again for another Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award. He is nominated for “Favorite Male Actor” and “Pirates” is also nominated again. This may not seem like a big award to us, but Johnny has said that it means alot to him and that he usually attends this award show. So keep your eyes open, He may show up! Votes are being taken starting on March 3 online and the show is going to be broadcast on March 29th.
“Sweeney Todd” was nominated for 2 BAFTA awards (the British version of the Oscars) for “Costume Design “, and “Make-Up & Hair”. “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” was also nominated for a BAFTA award in “Special Visual Effects”. The awards will be held on Feb. 10th 2008. However, Johnny Depp has indicated his unavailability for the ceremony.

Johnny was nominated in the category “Best Actor” of this years Academy Awards for his performance in the movie ‘Sweeney Todd’.

Though the movie ‘Sweeney Todd’ itself was left out of the oscar nominations in best picture, it was nominated for best art direction and best costume design.
This year’s Oscar telecast is scheduled for February 24 at the Kodak Theatre, but the ceremony is shrouded in uncertainty due to the ongoing writers’ strike.
After seven previous nominations, Johnny Depp earned a 2008 Golden Globe award for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd in the category “best actor in a musical or comedy “.
And Sweeney Todd got the best movie/ musical or comedy Golden Globe.

Because of the writers’ strike, there was no awards ceremony as usual, so nobody actually showed up.
Congratulations Johnny!!! The critics may not have a clue but the people showed them what is right!! Johnny won the Peoples Choice Award for Favorite Male Movie Star!!!! Pirates also won for Favorite Movie of the Year..and Favorite Threequel! Tell us something we didn’t know!
This is one of those awards that honor Johnny because like he says “The People “keep me employed” Even though Johnny of course was not present, the people made their voice known and you again came out on top Johnny!!
Although Johnny is nominated for a Golden Globe this year, he may not appear at the Golden Globes show –
Hollywood stars including all the nominated actors and actresses are set to boycott the Golden Globes ceremony in support of striking writers, jeopardising one of the entertainment industry’s most prestigious events.
He will also not be at the People’s Choice Awards on January 8th –
instead of that, the Sweeney Todd premiere in Japan will take place.
So sad, we miss the chance to see you one more time in one of your wonderful acceptance speeches, Johnny, but we support that!
The awards season has started:
Johnny was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Sweeney Todd.
Also, Sweeney Todd got nominations in Best Picture, Best Acting Ensemble, Tim Burton as Best Director and Edward Sanders as Best Young Actor.
The Awards will be given out January 7th, 2008.

Johnny has been nominated for the People’s Choice Awards for favourite male action star as well as favourite male movie star. POTC3 – At World’s End has been nominated for favourite movie and favourite threequel.
The PCA are voted on by the American public. Winners will be announced and honoured in a televised cerimony at the Shrine Auditiorium in Los Angeles on Jan. 8th, 2008.
Johnny has won the title of Best Actor at the first ever UK Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. The winner is chosen by children. Read a small newsreport about this on the Channel 4 newspage
Johnny won the Scream Award as best FANTASY HERO for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: at World’s End.
Additionally, Keith Richards won the Scream Award as best CAMEO in that movie.
At the Scream Award Show they showed a brand new THIRD TRAILER of the upcoming movie Sweeney Todd.
