It’s me again! For those of you who did not notice- have a look at your calendar. Rajacero, Martina and I would like to inform you that we fooled you!
No – there was no marriage!
We’d like to thank anyone who had an idea right from the beginning for playing along. Some comments we removed temporarily, because they’d have spoiled the fun way too early.
As every good rumour also this joke contains a few grains of truth.
Yes, Rajaceo and I have been to Plan de la Tour several times, but we’re not there at the moment.
There really is this display around the corner of the town hall.
A “Publication De Mariage” in Plan de la Tour looks exactly like that. It was pretty amusing to read that some even claimed we made mistakes that were none: Officier de l’Etat civil is not the mayor, it’s the registrar. Domicilié/Domiciliée is correct. In French you have a male and a female form of the word.
Last year when Rajacero and I spent our vacation in this beautiful village, Rajacero had taken a photo of a real one that was displayed there. She only changed names, dates and the address. Everything else in this form we left untouched. For those of you who were wondering why this would have been accessible for the public: An announcement like that is mandatory in France.
