When you logged in into the WordPress Admin Panel, you can see different sections in the left side navigation where I’ll guide you through what we use them for.
- Dashboard / Home
It’s relatively useless, but you have a little overview here, including the link to the instructions. - Posts
a very important section if not the most important. We add News posts here and articles (everything that has a date) - Affiliates
we have some befriended sites that are linked here. It won’t be that important for you - Galleries
here we add pics, like recent pics, appearances, photosessions, moviepics, screencaps and also fanart, sorted hierarchical.
The same structure is as folders on the server. You can later read more about that in the galleries instructions
- File Manager
it shows the gallery folder on our server. You can sort in the latest pics, combined with the galleries section, but also video clips (and audio files) into the dlm folder. Please take care that the folder structure stays intact. You will see the same if you have FTP access. - Media
if you include pictures in a page or post directly, you will find them here. They should not be used for galleries. - Pages
One more very important section. Our info pages are here. For better overview about the structure use the Tree View Option. - Quotes
We have a little quotes section on the site. If you want, you can add some quotes here directly through the admin panel, sometimes new quotes have to be approved - Comments
Sometimes visitors comment. First time commentators have to be approved first. So if here’s a number you can take a look if a comment has to be approved or maybe even be replied to. If it looks like spam/scam, trash it. - Downloads
The last important section – the downloads. Here we add video clips or audio files.
