Infinitum Nihil is an American film production company, founded by Johnny Depp along with Johnnys sister Christi Dembrowski and Sam Sarkar in 2004 to develop projects where he will serve as actor and/or producer. The company is run by Depp’s sister Christi Dembrowski.

Sam Sarker, who’s Director of Development, is a writer who has done projects such as Caliber (comic book Caliber is the tale of Excalibur contained in five issues from radical comics.) The production house has a three-year deal with Graham King’s Initial Entertainment Group (Graham King also was responsible for the movie The Departed). The very first film from I.N. was be the well publicised Shantaram which was scheduled for release in 2008, before the writers strike.

Infinitum Nihil is Latin for Infinite Nothing, although on their official website they do have the actual quote, “force is force…matter is matter…will is will…the infinite is the infinite…nothing is nothing” from Tolstoy’s Confession. Where Leo asks “What is the meaning of my life, beyond time, cause, and space?” in which he answers, “none.” His reasoning being Infinitum Nihil.

The only way to be sure you have contact to him is…go to a premiere…or an awards ceremony…or visit a set – only then you can tell it is him. After all you can try writing him, there are a few addresses available which have been tried out. Sadly, ALL of them just send back auto signed pics. This means a machine signs them – Johnny stopped signing by himself decades ago, and it is unsure the letters are forwarded.

Anyway – IF you want to get such an autosigned photo, make sure you send a letter including a Self Adressed Envelope (SASE) AND properly stamped. If you live outside USA, make sure, you add some International Reply Coupons instead of stamping the Envelope.

Daughter: Lily-Rose Melody Depp

Johnny’s and Vanessa Paradis’ daughter Lily-Rose Melody was born May 27th, 1999 in a hospital near Paris. While Johnny and Vanessa decided to keep her out of the limelight, she decided to start her own acting career as well as modelling for Chanel.

Son: Jack John Christopher Depp III

Johnny’s and Vanessa’s son Jack John Christopher was born April 9th, 2002 in a hospital near Paris. He tries to stay out of the limelight, but Jack and Lily-Rose share a close bond and are the best of friends. He also had little cameos in her movies and he’s a very talented cartoonist and musician.

Mother: Betty Sue Palmer

Betty Sue’s maiden name is Wells. She was married to Bob Palmer after her divorce from John Christopher Depp I.  Bob died around 2000. She was emplyed as a waitress when Johnny was growing up. Now she does not have to work at all, which is the way Johnny wants it!! He has spoken about this numerous times. He saw her work her fingers to the bone to provide a life for her children and now she can relax. Johnny has a tattoo with Betty Sue’s name. Unfortunately, she died 20. Mai 2016.

Che Guevara necklace

This necklace is of Che Guevara, who was an Argentine-born revolutionary. Johnny began wearing this necklace about the time he filmed the movie La Mancha.
With the Che necklace is a tiger tooth necklace he added in the last years.It is rumored that he obtained it from a thrift store.

Gonzo necklace

The Gonzo necklace is of course in honor of Hunter Thompson – Johnny’s wonderful and close friend who has since passed. Johnny also wears many Gonzo clothing pieces. The cross is a symbol of eternal life and immortalism.

Hindu diety Lord Ganesh necklace

Johnny wears a necklace of the Hindu diety Lord Ganesh who is the elephant headed god of success. Of course, many wonder of Johnny’s personal beliefs, but he shares the views of many religions so this is not a statement about his religion.
Some other necklaces he wears in addition are the Lily-Rose Melody coin, a necklace made of little skulls and one of colorful beads.:

Skull rings

He has many skull rings – one that he has worn since the Dead Man days and another that is also worn by Iggy Pop and Jim Jarmusch his friends. Another skull ring he has contains the emblem from The Brave on the side of it and the number three:

#1 Native American Head

Johnny’s first tattoos is a Cherokee Indian chief for his ancestral heritage – on his right biceps. “I started getting tattoos when they were sort of verboten in Hollywood… 1983, 1984. I was 17 when I got the first one [a Cherokee chief, to honor] my Indian heritage.” (Inquirer.net, May 13, 2011)

#2 Heart & Betty Sue

His mother’s name “Betty Sue” is inside a heart with some tribal flourishing on his left upper arm. He got it on May 31, 1988.

#3 Wino Forever

His tattoo was once dedicated to his, at that time, girlfriend Winona Ryder with the words “Winona forever”, but later he laser edited it to “Wino forever” – the tattoo is on his upper right arm.

#4 Inverted Triangle

Over the heart with his mother’s name he has an inverted triangle. The triangle was originally drawn by Russian painter Ilya Chasnik in 1925. Chasnik was part of a group which embraced the Communist ideal of producing art for the benefit of the worker and arranged many public art projects – maybe this tattoo has political meaning for Johnny. The word is that Bela Lugosi once lived in a large castle estate that sits above Sunset Boulevard. The original entrance gates were at 8311 Sunset but today the entrance gates are at 1486 North Sweetzer (the original servants’ and service entrance). The mansion is 90 feet above Sunset, almost totally hidden in the trees.

Lugosi never lived there, though the story of the estate is an interesting one.

The mansion was built by George Campbell Carson, a miner. Because of some trouble with the big mining companies he spent 19 years in court fighting them, at that time living in San Francisco.  1925 he finally won $1,000,000 (probably $50,000,000 today) and in 1927 he married. The couple immediately began  construction on an estate they called Mt. Kalmia on a four-acre eucalyptus grove sitting about ninety feet above 8311 Sunset Boulevard (the original entrance was on Sunset).

Mt. Kalmia was an extravagant castle, complete with battlements and rounded turrets and towers, seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, two sun decks, etc. The inside was designed to mimic the terraced grounds so there were a dozen levels.  There was a music room, solarium, library, morning reading-room, coffee-room, nursery, a billiard-room, refectory, butler’s pantry, grocery and laundry rooms, and elaborate quarters for the maids and chauffeurs.  Wide three-story tall winding staircases were lit by stained glass among more than 125 grilled windows.  The wood moldings throughout were hand-carved and wallpaper painted by hand.  The dining hall was all original Hepplewhite.
