Johnny Depp Joins Instagram, Reveals He’s ‘Filming Something for You’ in Debut Post
Hello everyone… filming something for you now… gimme a minute
A post shared by Johnny Depp (@johnnydepp) on Apr 16, 2020 at 7:12am PDT
Johnny Depp is now on Instagram.
The actor made his debut on the social media platform on Thursday, teasing fans with news of a new project.
The photo shows Depp sitting on an old wooden bench in what looks like a cave with a table filled with lit candles in front of him. The area around him is lit with professional lights so it looks like a set, which Depp hints at in the caption.
“Hello everyone… filming something for you now… gimme a minute,” Depp, 56, wrote.
The actor racked up over 600,000 followers in just three hours since posting, on his way to likely hitting a million the same day.
The last celebrity to cause a splash on Instagram was Jennifer Aniston, who momentarily crashed the site and holds the record for fastest account to hit 1 million followers. She did so in just five hours and 16 minutes last October.
Aniston beat out the previous record holders, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s no defunct account SussexRoyal, which hit 1 million in five hours and 45 minutes.
Some of the previous title holders include K-Pop star Kang Daniel and Pope Francis.

The comments on Depp’s post point to a possible project with his band The Hollywood Vampires, as both the band’s official account and legendary Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, who also plays in the band with Depp, both commented similar emojis.
“

,” the band’s account commented.
“

,” Perry followed up.
Also in the band alongside Depp and Perry is Alice Cooper, known for the band with the same name from the ’70s. Cooper, whose real name is Vincent Furnier, adopted the band’s name as his own and continued a long career.
Amber Heard and Girlfriend Bianca Butti: Everything We Know About the New Couple
Amber Heard seems to have found love again with girlfriend Bianca Butti.
Over the last few months, the actress and her new flame have been making headlines while stepping out together and showing off their new romance amid Heard’s ongoing legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
The former couple had married in February 2015 and settled their divorce in August 2016. Since calling it quits, the Aquaman actress, 33, first struck up a romance with Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, though they ended things in 2018. Heard was then linked to It: Chapter Two director Andy Muschietti in 2019.

Now, it appears that Heard has found a spark with Butti, after the pair were seen sharing a kiss during a Palm Springs trip together in January.
Here’s everything we know about Butti and Heard’s new relationship:
Butti is Los Angeles-based cinematographer
Heard’s new partner has been working in the entertainment industry for the past decade. According to IMDb, she’s worked as a cinematographer on several episodes of the hit VH1 series Love & Hip Hop and Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta, as well as a variety of feature films.
She also directed and wrote a short titled The Proprietor, and has even tried her hand in front of the camera as an actress Hank and Asha and Trunk: A Love Story. Butti also worked as a producer and executive producer on five films.
Butti is battling breast cancer for a second time
Butti was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 at the age of 34, according to a GoFundMe page set up on her behalf this past August. After undergoing surgery and rounds of chemotherapy, she was declared cancer-free but was diagnosed with cancer for a second time in March of last year.
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in March of this year,” the cinematographer wrote in a note on GoFundMe in 2019. “I was beyond devastated. A new tumor appeared in my right breast, almost 3 years since I was declared ‘cancer free.'”
“I will say that getting a cancer diagnosis for the second time, is a lot less scary than the first time. After being diagnosed a few years ago, I did a lot of research about breast cancer and cancer in general,” she added. “For cancer round two I felt more patient and well informed about what my options were for treatment.”
Surgery went well!!!!!!! I’m a little sore but doing really good

The filmmaker has also been very open about her battle with cancer on social media, often updating her followers on Instagram about her treatments and procedures.
So far, the GoFundMe has raised over $19,000, with the ultimate goal of raising $60,000 to cover medical costs as “insurance companies do not cover ‘alternative’ treatments.”

The girlfriends appear to be social distancing together
Amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Heard and Butti appear to be social distancing together as they were spotted flower shopping in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Heard also posted a video on Instagram – seemingly taken by Butti – remarking on how her “organic garden” was helping her self-isolate during the pandemic.
“For our French toast this morning? Okay, I’ve got rosemary and ,” the actress says in the clip as she picks the low-hanging fruit from branches, with Butti heard laughing behind the camera.
Earlier this month, Butti and Heard were also spotted shopping for groceries together. The couple held hands as they walked out with their haul, sharing some tender moments during the outing.
Javier Bardem Supports Johnny Depp in Defamation Lawsuit Against Amber Heard
Javier Bardem has come forward to support his friend Johnny Depp in the actor’s defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Bardem, 51, submitted a written declaration on behalf of Depp, 56, who sued Heard in 2019 after she wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post, in which she characterized herself as a victim of domestic abuse, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
The two actors worked together in the 2000 film Before Night Falls and again in 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
“I love Johnny. He has always been a true gentleman and an extremely generous and caring friend to my family and myself,” Bardem wrote in the documents obtained by PEOPLE. The Blast first reported the story.
The Oscar winner continued, “On top of that I’ve had the gift of working with him twice and have experienced his respectful attitude towards every single member of the crew alongside his unique and hilarious sense of humor.”

“I stand by Johnny because I have always seen and felt a true caring and loving man in him – an extraordinary and unique artist who has listened to anyone who needed his help,” Bardem wrote. “I not only love Johnny but respect him deeply and I thank him for being the free and careless little boy he is in his art and the mature and loving man he is in the lives of others – always there when we need him.”
Bardem added, “I love Johnny because he is a good human being, trapped in the lies and manipulations of toxic beings and yet smiling and loving us all in spite of it. How? Through his music, through his acting, through his silence. This means a lot. Thank you Johnny. Millions of others like me love you deeply.”
A rep for Heard did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Bardem’s wife and frequent costar, Penélope Cruz also submitted a written declaration earlier this month in which she supported Depp.
“Many years have passed and I have not only made 3 movies with him, but I also count on him as a great friend. I’ve always been impressed by his kindness, his brilliant mind, his talent, and his peculiar sense of humor,” she wrote in the court documents, obtained by The Blast.
Depp’s ex-girlfriend, Winona Ryder, also backed the actor in her own declaration, writing, “I am aware of the violence allegations that have been made publicly for the last few years by Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard.”

“I do not want to call anyone a liar but from my experience of Johnny, it is impossible to believe that such horrific allegations are true. I find it extremely upsetting knowing him as I do,” she added in the documents.
Depp’s ex Vanessa Paradis also voiced her support earlier this month in a submitted declaration on behalf of Depp.
“I have known Johnny Depp for more than 25 years,” Paradis, 47, wrote in the court documents, which were first reported by The Blast. “We’ve been partners for 14 years and we raised our two children together. Through all these years I’ve known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous, and non-violent person and father.”
“I am aware of the allegations which Amber Heard has publicly accused Johnny of for more than 4 years now,” she continued. “This is nothing like the true Johnny I have known, and from my personal experience of many years, I can say he was never violent or abusive to me.”
Depp and Paradis were together for 14 years, from 1999 to 2012. The French singer – who married Samuel Benchetrit in 2018 – has two kids with Depp: Lily-Rose, 20, and John Christopher, 17.
Heard, 33, and Depp married in 2015. In May 2016, she filed for a domestic violence restraining order against him, accusing him of abusing her. Depp denied the claims, and the former couple settled their divorce out of court in August 2016 for $7 million, which she donated to charity. Both actors signed NDAs barring them from discussing their relationship publicly.
Depp’s lawyers filed a $50 million defamation suit against Heard in 2019 over her Dec. 18, 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post titled, “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” In the op-ed, she made no mention of Depp’s name.
Depp sued the U.K. tabloid The Sun in 2018 for libel over a story that called the actor a “wife-beater.” The trial is expected to begin on March 23 and last for two weeks, according to Reuters.

“I am aware of the violence allegations that have been made publicly for the last few years by Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard,” Ryder, who had a four-year relationship with Depp, wrote in the documents, which were first reported by The Blast.
“I do not want to call anyone a liar but from my experience of Johnny, it is impossible to believe that such horrific allegations are true. I find it extremely upsetting knowing him as I do,” she added in the documents.
The Stranger Things star, 48, made similar comments back in 2016, when she told TIME that Depp, 56, was “never abusive at all” during their relationship, which began in 1990. The couple got engaged five months after their first date, but they split in 1993.
“I only know him as a really good, loving, caring guy who is very, very protective of the people that he loves,” she said at the time.
In her own declaration, Cruz, 45, wrote that she had not witnessed Depp, whom she met when she was 19, engaging in violent behavior.
“Many years have passed and I have not only made 3 movies with him, but I also count on him as a great friend. I’ve always been impressed by his kindness, his brilliant mind, his talent, and his peculiar sense of humor,” she wrote in the court documents, obtained by The Blast.

16 Celeb Kids Who Are Following in Their Parents’ Famous Footsteps
What do Apple Martin, Kaia Gerber and Lily-Rose Depp have in common? They’re a select few celeb kids who are quickly making names for themselves in Hollywood – proving talent indeed runs in the family.
Their parents might not be totally into the idea of them following fame, but that won’t stop these kids from channeling their high-profile Moms and Dads.
SIMONE JOHNSON
A post shared by therock (@therock) on Feb 10, 2020 at 10:11pm PST
Another Johnson is ready to build her legacy in the WWE. In Feb. 2020, the company announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s 18-year-old daughter Simone has officially signed with WWE and kicked off her training at its Performance Center in Florida – making her the first fourth-generation Superstar in WWE history.
“It means the world to me,” Simone said in a statement released by the WWE. “To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle but to carry on that legacy.”
Simone was born into a family of WWE legends. Not only was her father a 10-time world champion, but her grandfather, Rocky Johnson, and her great-grandfather, “High Chief” Peter Maivia, were both inducted into the Hall of Fame.
BLUE IVY
Heeeeey, little Miss Carter! Beyoncé and JAY-Z‘s eight-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, was practically destined to follow in her parents’ footsteps. A source told PEOPLE, “Blue loves singing, dancing and performing. She is a natural.”
Most recently, Bey’s firstborn is dabbling in singing and songwriting. You can catch her showing off her vocals on “Brown Skin Girl,” a track off of her mom’s latest album, The Lion King: The Gift. Blue even received a writing credit for the tune. She also appeared in the video for her mom’s song “Spirit,” proving that she’s certainly not camera shy.
And who could ever forget “Blue’s Freestyle,” which was included on her dad’s 4:44 album? In it, Blue raps the iconic line, “Never seen a ceiling in my whole life,” which, TBH, should have won a Grammy.
And it’s not just vocal and writing chops that Blue inherited from her famous mom and dad. She’s also got some killer dance moves.
EMMY MUNIZ
With parents like Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, how could 11-year-old Emme Muñiz not be a star on the rise? In case you needed evidence, J. Lo included a clip of her baby girl singing the Alicia Keys ballad, “If I Ain’t Got You,” in her behind-the-scenes tour diary.
She also had Emme join her onstage (in matching red outfits, naturally) in Los Angeles for a powerful duet of her song, “Limitless.” Look at that proud mama!
I can’t take it! #Emme #Limitless #ProudMama #JLoItsMyParty
A post shared by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on Jun 8, 2019 at 8:59am PDT
What’s even more impressive? Emme stole the show at the 2020 Super Bowl when she hit the Miami Hard Rock Stadium stage to perform with her mom. She began her cameo with a rendition of “Let’s Get Loud” alongside some other young performers, before belting out a few lines from Bruce Springsteen’s “Born In the USA.”
“She has that gene, the gene that’s like I’m comfortable up here,” Lopez told host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “I think she gets amped, like excited, but like a cute excited, like I wish I felt more like her.”
MAX LIRON
Christina Aguilera shared insights into her 12-year-old son’s abilities while answering fan questions on Twitter in August 2018. “Summer Rain knows any of your ?” a fan asked her, referring to her daughter.
“Summer and I stick to our Disney songs together, BUT, my son Max actually has an incredible voice – he doesn’t showcase it a lot- but I caught him singing Maria the other day, and he was pitch perfect,” Aguilera tweeted.
VIOLET GROHL
Despite only being 12 years old at the time, the young singer had no problem taking on Adele’s “When We Were Young” as her dad, Dave Grohl, played back up on acoustic guitar during a benefit concert.
RENÉ-CHARLES ANGÉLIL
Céline Dion’s eldest son seems to share his mother’s gift for chart-topping. Just one day after dropping two songs on SoundCloud in May 2018, he revealed that his music shot to no. 1 and 2 on the R&B & Soul New & Hot chart overnight. Both songs are covers of The Weekend’s music, and Angélil hasn’t been able to contain his excitement over the positive response. “Speechless…” he captioned a screenshot of his songs at the top of the up-and-coming list, adding “I woke up like dis…#ChartTopper” in another.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s daughter Luna Simone is following in her Grammy-and-Oscar-winning father’s footsteps! In February 2018, the cutie starred in her mom’s Snapchat video, during which the toddler belted out her original lyrics. The apple doesn’t fall far from the (musical) tree with Luna. She grabbed her pint-sized microphone and performed a solo concert in front of her family with Teigen proudly cheering and saying, “Yay!”
VALENTINA PINAULT
Salma Hayek and husband François-Henri Pinault’s daughter is already building her slime empire at school – taking after her business-savvy mogul parents.
“She got into learning how to make slime,” Hayek told PEOPLE. (Yes, the gooey DIY craze made from glue.) “She has a lot of it in the house. She has developed like 40 different recipes for slime and she became very popular in school because it’s not easy to make. Now she’s experimenting with different things and the kids all want to learn and she teaches them, and then they want to buy it from her, she started selling the slime!”
EGYPT & GENESIS DEAN
A post shared by No Breaks In 2020 (@therealswizzz) on Apr 5, 2017 at 3:07pm PDT
Not only are Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s two kids – Egypt Daoud, 9, and Genesis Ali, 5 – adorable, but the brothers also take after their parents in the music department. Case in point: Beatz showed off Genesis’ impressive beatboxing skills on Instagram in 2017.
“In the middle of my #NoCommissionShanghai Genesis wanted me to hear his new beat 1234567,” the proud dad wrote in the caption.
Egypt has also refined his musical talent. In December 2016, the aspiring pint-sized musician wrote his first song, “Super-boy” and Beatz was there to share his accomplishment.
A post shared by No Breaks In 2020 (@therealswizzz) on Nov 28, 2016 at 1:15pm PST
The 9 year old also has a co-producer credit on Kendrick Lamar’s Untitled Unmastered project that dropped in 2016.
EVER ANDERSON
The daughter of Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson has caught the acting bug. In her movie debut, Ever starred alongside her famous mom in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter – written and directed by her father. “You are all going to flip out on the many layered performance she so naturally plays in this film,” Jovovich gushed on Instagram. “She’s a real talent. And nothing makes me happier in the world than to know that my baby has found her passion in life.”

While Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin‘s kids – Apple and Moses – haven’t caught the acting bug quite yet, it’s become obvious the teens have developed an interest in singing.
The pair joined their dad, frontman for Coldplay, on stage, where Apple covered Ariana Grande’s “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart” and Moses gave an impressive rendition of Twenty One Pilots’ “House of Gold.”
Most recently, in March 2018, Paltrow shared a sweet clip of Martin showing their daughter how to play the Beatles’ classic “Blackbird” on her guitar.
LILY-ROSE DEPP
Lily-Rose, the daughter of actor Johnny Depp, is already adamant about what she wants to pursue as a career. “For me, it’s simple: I like to act,” she told Vanity Fair. “It frees me. I want to make it my craft.”
The teen has already starred in a handful of films, including Yoga Hosers – opposite her famous father and mother, Vanessa Paradis – The Dancer and Planetarium. She is also adding to her résumé with modeling stints, most notably fronting Chanel No. 5’s ad campaign.

I hate seeing myself talk on camera – I look ridiculous,” she’s said. But with model Jennifer Flavin for a mom, the 21-year-old does have an interest in the fashion world. She signed with IMG Models and earned the title of “fresh face to watch” from Vogue.

Willy Wonka Might Be a Woman in the Anticipated Prequel Movie: Report
Willy Wonka could soon be coming back to theaters in a very different form!
An upcoming planned Willy Wonka prequel movie is considering casting a woman as the famous fictional chocolatier, according to a report from The Sun. The role has previously been portrayed onscreen by Gene Wilder in 1971’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and Johnny Depp in 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. (Both movies were based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 children’s novel.)
In 2016, Variety reported that a Willy Wonka reboot was in the works from producer David Heyman, who previously worked on the Harry Potter and Paddington movies.
During an interview with Collider in 2018, Heyman confirmed that the upcoming project would be a prequel, set before the events of Dahl’s book and the two movie adaptions.
PEOPLE is out to Warner Bros., the studio behind the two previous films, for comment.

“We are still trying to figure out how to tell that story, what the story is,” Heyman, 58, said at the time. “It’s a prequel, it’s not a sequel. What makes Willy – when we find him at the chocolate factory doing the golden ticket, where is he before that? What leads him to that place where he’s locked himself away? … It’s how does he get there? So we’re playing around with that.”
Collider also reported that Donald Glover and Ryan Gosling had previously been rumored to be in contention for the role of Willy Wonka in the upcoming movie.

Wilder’s 1971 portrayal of Willy Wonka left the character’s backstory ambiguous, while the 2005 movie starring Depp added in flashbacks to Willy Wonka’s mean dentist father.
“It’s challenging because you don’t have Dahl, you don’t have a Dahl book, and yet you have a Dahl character,” Heyman told Slash Film in 2016. “But I think there’s a lot in his character that suggests who he is and also where he might come from or what his childhood or his middle age might have been like. So we’re exploring that. We’re discussing it. We’re in the very early stages and very excited about what lies ahead.”
