THR writes, that Johnny Depp will replace Robert Downey Jr. in Sam Raimi’s upcoming film Oz, the Great and Powerful. Robert should take the lead role of the Wizard, now there are rumors that Johnny is currently talking with Disney taking over the role of the Wizard.
However, this is still just a rumor, so let’s see if it happens! But maybe this was the reason he was in good talk with RDJ at the Golden Globes awards, as we can see on one pic. I’d rather have’em both in one movie, though.

The original was made in 1939, but I loved the movie when it was shown on TV, growing up,still do.
I love the song Somewhere Over The Rainbow. It will be wonderful to see this modern twist especially if Johnny is doing this flim…all my hopes ginny
Well whether Johnny replaces Robert or not, im sure it will be a awesome film.I much enjoyed the original movie so it will be interesting to see how the new one turns out. =D
I think Johnny would make a WONDERFUL Wizard of Oz and it would be interesting to see the Wizard’s story. I wonder what 3D scenes they would put in this film? There are so many to choose from.
