Warner Bros studies to roll ‘Shantaram’ in the City of the Light

According to an article published by the laverdad.es website, they say that the filming of the Johnny Depp’s Shantaram may be filmed in Alicante, Spain in the Ciudad de la Luz (City of Light.) The Ciudad de la Luz is the new “Hollywood on the Med” the most modern audiovisual major film studio in Europe…

The secretary of Economy, Estate and Employment, Gerardo Camps, announced yesterday that Warner Bros studies the filming of Shantaram in the City of the Light.

Gerardo Camps carried out these statements after being met in Valencia with the executive producer of the Warner, Chris Brigham, the director of WB Europe, Roy Button, and the line producer, Jose Luis School. Shantaram, the last production of Warner, will include a next budget to the 120 million euro and will be set in the India.

If the City of the Light receives finally this filming, the eighty percent of the same one would be carried out in the studies, while the remainder would take place in natural environments located in streets and corners of the city of Alicante and its outskirts. The filming will be prolonged during thirty weeks and only in the area of the technical team the participation of three hundred people will be needed.

Chartattack – Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest probably doesn’t need much outside promotion to make it one of the summer’s biggest movies, but its star is taking an extra step to get people into a swashbuckling frame of mind – By: ChartAttack.com Staff.

Johnny Depp is the executive producer of an album of sea shanties recorded by an impressive group of artists that’s expected to arrive in stores via Epitaph Records sometime around the movie’s July 7 premiere.

Producer Hal Willner is overseeing the project. Willner has assembled an extraordinary cast of contributors to the new album, including Bono, Bryan Ferry, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Antony And The Johnsons, Richard and Linda Thompson, Loudon Wainwright III and former Virgin Prunes singers Gavin Friday, Guggi and Dave-id.

Disney Insider – It’s been a long three years, but on July 7 Captain Jack Sparrow and crew will be back, with dastardly new villains, a heart-thumping new quest, and a full shipload of familiar faces.

Fans of “Black Pearl” are thrilled – and so is Terry Rossio, who cowrote both films (and the upcoming third, which will complete the trilogy) with his partner Ted Elliott.

According to Terry, when they wrote the first film no one was sure that it would spawn sequels – or even that anyone would want to see it! “Given the cursed nature of the pirate genre, we thought there was a good chance we were making the last pirate film that would be made for the next 20 years,” he laughs. “My writing partner, Ted Elliott, predicted the final box-office number pretty closely. I think he was the only person in the world who knew.”

Rolling Stone marks 1,000th issue with 3-D cover

By Dean Goodman – Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner has assembled 154 of his best friends on the bold cover of the 1,000th issue of his pop-culture magazine, which hits newsstands this week.

The hefty volume boasts a 3-D lenticular attachment featuring a Sgt. Pepper’s-style collage of some of the biggest names in music, film, TV and literature of the last four decades.
