Filming took place at The Portage Theatre in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday nights. Although Johnny was present it seems, He did not come out to meet the fans as he was filming and then went to his hotel. There still is some filming to do apparently at the Biograph but we don’t know when it will exactly be done.

Crews are transforming the street level entrance
of the Aragon in preparation for filming. The
transformation will take place through the end of
the week.

Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S.Thompson will be released 7.4.08. Johnny does the narration of the film and reads passages from the Dr.’s book.
It is from Oscar-wining director Alex Gibney and producer Graydon Carter the film addresses the major touchstones in Thompson?s life

For those of you who don’t know, Dr. Thompson was a close friend of Johnny’s and a great influence on Johnny’s life.To understand Johnny, it is helpful to learn about those he holds most dear.Dr. Thompson was a literary giant and a genius mind. This would be a wonderful piece for those who have never learned about him before to be introduced to his work and writing.

Crews worked this week to get Lincoln Park Ready for
Shooting. Filming will take place on the 2400 block of
North Lincoln Avenue through Friday.

The film will be shooting at several Chicago locations
running into next month. Filming locations include sites
in Wisconsin and Indiana as well. The film is scheduled
to release July 2009.

Once again extras are being cast this time for
filming a prison scene in Joliet area.
Extras wanted are men 6′ 1″ tall and under, who
are slim to medium build they will be paid as extras.

stats (height, weight, age, clothes size and

This prison scene is rumored to be filmed at the
Joliet Correctional Center which closed in 2002.

The filming at the Biograph usually starts in the evening around 7 or 8. Johnny was supposed to be there Thursday & Friday. They are saying that they will be there until mid June filming. They are filming the end scenes The main scene of the movie. They have 3 blocks barricaded around the filming location. Johnny left the filming location last weekend and was gone over the long holiday. There has been some problems with fans on the set that has caused only a lucky few to get a chance to meet Johnny. He has been shooting on and off 14 hour days with the filming schedule flipping night and day.

One lucky Wisconsin sixth-grader got a
surprise while Johnny Depp was filming
in Beaver Dam area. She not only got to
meet Tom Kennedy the Mayor but Depp as well.
Emily Valle was the lucky one picked
out of a handful of students to meet
Depp as the mayor thought the whole group
would be turned away he picked one lucky
child to go with him on the way to visit the
movie set in Beaver Dam.
Emily said she told Depp he was a good actor
and thanked him for meeting her in which Depp
replied “It’s a Pleasure” to her. Emily
spent two hours at the Rogers Hotel during
filming and took home Depp’s autograph.

Filming will be done Monday and Tuesday in
two Wisconsin cities. Shooting is scheduled for a
Columbus home on Monday and then at the Roger’s
Hotel in Beaver Dam on Tuesday WISC-TV is reporting.
More filming will be done in Columbus on Tuesday
afternoon as well.
