About 200 Fans that waited to see Johnny were
disappointed yesterday in Lockport.
Filming was to take place near 11th and State
streets but it never took place Wednesday
night. As filming was canceled for the day.
Sheila Rossow, 41, of Lockport, with her 6-foot-tall
cardboard cutout of Captain Jack Sparrow was at
the intersection waiting when she got the
the bad news that filming was canceled for
the day. The cutout belonged to Rossow’s
15-year-old daughter, Gabby Pechota.
“She feels bad so many people bombard him,
so she stayed home. We’re going to hold it here
and hope that he sees it. We’re hoping to get
Johnny’s autograph.” Rossow said.

Filming is near completion going over
budget and soon to go over the amount
of time allowed for script shooting days.

Filming started on March 17th and the
project was only scheduled for 69 shooting
days according to contract but the film will
end up wrapping shooting at the end of
the month. The film is set to open in
theaters July 2009.
Pinched to complete on June 30th scenes
are scheduled for Saturdays.

12 year old Jack Taylor from Oshkosh got
a package in the mail from Johnny’s
production company Thursday containing
a variety of Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory promotional gifts along with a
vintage fedora Depp told Taylor he could
have when he was in town in April for
filming.

“All I really said was Can I have your
hat? Taylor stated then Depp’s response
was “When I’m done with it, it’s yours.”
He was actually pretty cool Taylor added.

Taylor’s parents tracked down Depp’s agent
to make sure his promise was fulfilled.
However Depp did follow through and included
enough stuff for all of his siblings along
with a personal note from him stating
“Enjoy the Hat and the cool Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory stuff” and signed it himself.

Jack was surprised and delighted when he got the
package stating “It’s Pretty Awesome.”

I actually met him in an airport in Ohio. It was amazing because I was having a terrible day – my flight had been delayed forever, then I ended up having to take a different plane that went through Ohio instead of Atlanta- I was on my way to Lexington, Kentucky from California, where I went to school, to visit family for Christmas. Johnny was actually on his way from Lexington (where his mom lives also)to California. I was walking through the airport to catch another flight when I spotted him out of the corner of my eye! I just happened to turn my head and look into a bar and there he was sitting behind a post at a table with several other men. I nearly died, as I am a HUGE fan. Before that I always wondered if I would actually recognize him if I ever saw him in person, but at that moment I had no doubts. He looked exactly like he did in the movies, but as I’ve told people after, who never believe me, I think he’s actually more gorgeous in person- which is very intimidating! I was freaking out and started pacing up and down in front of the bar trying to decide what to do. I saw a woman in the bar go up and shake his hand and decided I would do that (even though at the time I wasn’t even old enough to legally enter)! After briefly looking for a pen (which I couldn’t find) I marched up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

In honor of Johnny and the rest of the filming
crew Kincaid’s Restaurant in Wisc. has renamed their
French Dip Sandwich to the Wisconsin French Depp.
All profits are being donated to the Make a Wish
Foundation of Wisconsin.
The sandwich features rock salt-roasted prime rib,
Wisconsin white cheddar cheese, pickled onions,
grated horseradish sauce and house-made au jus.
Yummy sounds good to me!

Johnny drew a crowd Friday evening at Indiana
Dunes Stat Park and some Chesterton residents
got their picture taken with him.
Filming started between 12:30-1am and didn’t wrap
till 5am. About 150 people arrived around 9pm but only 12 people stayed till 5am.
“It was worth it” said Gail Vogan We got our
pictures taken with him and he talked to us
and he is really a nice person! He is taller
than I thought. I?m 5?7? and my daughter is
5?8? and he is taller than both of us.
It was his 45th birthday on June 9!?

During filming in Milwaukee on Tuesday
many people stood by early to try to catch a
glance of Johnny.

Terra Scott was there since 8:00am “We actually
started down the block at the historical society
and then we came back over here”, she says.
Lisa Krysiak says “I think it was worth waiting
for because I’ve been a huge fan. I own just about
all his movies and won’t let anyone take one out
of my house.”

Plenty of work has been done to transform the
Historical Society Building into the 1920s.
If all goes well filming will continue today,
then they will move to the east side along Prospect
Ave.

Johnny spent his 45th Birthday in Chicago
winning over the few fans that were present
to watch the filming. He smiled and waved at
the fans standing waiting to see him. When
rain delayed filming for a short while he was seen
umbrella in hand chatting with fans.
Last Monday he warned fans to be careful they didn’t
get hit by a car as they swarmed his SUV. He was
also seen last week leaving a Sears store in
Portage Park.
