Filming of PE brought millions of dollars
to the State’s Economy at a time when it
was greatly needed. According to estimates
by Film Wisconsin and the Associated Press
the total impact will be more than $10 million.
From March 17th till June 30th PE filmed in
Madison, Manitowish Waters, Oshkosh, Columbus,
Milwaukee, Darlington, Beaver Dam, Eureka,
Oregon, and around Mirror Lake Wisconsin as
well as Indiana, Illinois and Los Angeles.

There were a few fans present and Johnny was filming until after dark. They filmed a love scene. Jerry also was filming a scene as an extra!! Johnny came out shortly and greeted the fans. He met a few fans and signed some autographs.. He spent some time talking with some children also. Then he got in his vehicle and was away.

Yes folks, Johnny is there at the race track in Santa Anita. There are over 100 film workers, cast ,extras and whatnot at the track today. Jerry has been spotted and someone also thought they saw Johnny take a quick walk from one trailer to the next. We have heard from a employee at the park that they are scheduled to be there for the whole night and tomorrow as well. So who knows? There may be more of Johnny yet to see…

It is officially done and wrapped in Chicago! There was a feeling of joy and relief among the crew and Johnny walked all around the set talking and hugging the crew and others on the set. He of course has been out every evening meeting the crowd this week, the final week. He hugged and shook hands with everyone in the lines. The crowds were large for the last day but of course Johnny took time to greet everyone.
Johnny gave a small memento to the crew and cast. A small wooden gun in a pouch, both signed and messaged. Many of you have had the chance to spend some time with Johnny during these days of filming and this is the first time in all we can remember that Johnny has put himself out there for all to enjoy at this level.
We all certainly want to thanks Johnny for this time he has spent after long hard days of work to come out to give us all a change to see him.

We here at JDorg would also like to thank Jerry and Johnny’s other bodyguards and assistants for the long hours they also have spent in the midst of the fans. It is a very difficult job that they do and without them there for Johnny NONE of this would have been possible. We appreciate you Jerry and all your dedication in keeping Johnny safe and secure!

What a wonderful thing we have experienced these past months and we will miss seeing all the wonderful photos from you all.

The first time we met (the pic of him in the hat and tan jacket smiling at me) was in columbus WI.
My friend and I had gotten there about 3pm and ten min later we saw him drive to set in his SUV. I remember my friend and I just looked at each other and said “this is going to be a GOOD day!” and it was! at about midnight Jerry told us that johnny would be coming out and shaking hands with everyone and that we could take pictures of him. when he came out my heart was going about a million beats per second! when he finally got to me i asked for a hug and he gave me one, then my friend was able to snap the pic of us smiling after. 🙂 love love this picture.

The second time was early thrusday morning about 4am. I had arrived in Columbus at noon on Wed and was there for eight hours before they even arrrived. I was walking around the set, sitting on the set lol, just enjoying seeing everything and taking pictures of everything i could. then finall at about 8:30pm the PE cast and crew arrived and began shooting. they shot from 9 until 3 and then johnny took an hour to relax. Jerry said pretty much the same thing that he wouldn’t be posing for pics, but Johnny totally did!! as is seen in one of the JD.org Columbus 2008 albums.

Although some places have stated the filming is about complete. It has been rumored that there are some exterior shots being filmed outside the Lakeview area thats across from Wrigley field. We have heard however that johnny may already be in LA and not present anymore in Chicago. This being said there is always a chance to catch a glimpse if he shows up for a couple of shots and is there since nothing is confirmed.There was some filming was done today at Balbo and State street. But these were also quick shots and Johnny was not present. There has been a report of only 5 or 6 more days of filming, as they are also expected to shoot the Dog race scene in or around LA, even though there has been some guessing we cannot confirm for sure where this will be filmed. Since Dog racing is outlawed in California, it is a good bet that they will substitute a horse track.

I’m so happy that Anne adopted the tfl.org approved fanlisting for the soundtrack. I have listened to it for half a year now (its been out that olong here where I am) Listening to soundtrack only and Johnny Depp singing in it and additionally being one of those stories going to my heart, this soundtrack is so very special to me.

As we had in the news before ( here) the trailer for the upcoming documentary Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson has been released. Johnny is featured in the trailer reading a passage from Hunter’s book “Hell’s Angels”. The movie is directed by the Academy Award Winner Alex Gibney and it’s set to be released on the 4th of July.
