Of course yesterday’s story about Johnny in Harry Potter was an April Fools Joke, completely written and made up by us here on the site. Johnny will NOT play in Harry Potter (or at least we haven’t heard of).

Most of you realized it was a joke (as I can read in the comments), some sites didn’t however. We found 9 sites, including big sites as flixter and a few Johnny Depp sites, posting our – fake – news.

Although, most people liked the little story and would have loved the news – sorry to disappoint you now! Maybe J.K.R will read the positive comments and consider to approach him to do this.

We have just heard the news from an inside source (who we cannot reveal) that Johnny will be in the upcoming Harry Potter movie “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” (2010) – a series his daughter is fan of.
He signed contracts with Warner Bros. in early March when he still was in L.A.

Johnny is set to play Gellert Grindelwald, a dark wizard, once a friend but later dueling Albus Dumbledore, said to be the greatest duel ever fought between wizards, and then put into prison. He shall appear in flashbacks through different ages (but I’m sure, they’ll take another actor for the earliest ages).

Johnny will be the first non-british actor in the Harry Potter series and it’ll be the 4th collaboration with Helena Bonham-Carter.

The last days a music video of Vanessa Paradis for the song “L’ incendie” of her latest album “Divinidylle” has been released.

It was directed by Johnny Depp and it is one of the most beautiful music videos ever made, this is because of the beautiful woman, the wonderful background and the incredible and individual ideas.

A man with a hat appears in the video, who could be Johnny Depp, or at least represents him. But watch it yourself:

Johnny is searching for Screen Writers for his
lastest project. Johnny will play surrealist
painter Salvador Dali in the new film Dali and
wants to get the right script.

Sources say he is open to working with anyone as
long as the script is right.

Dali was famed for his technical genius and his
showmanship.

After the writers strike caused Johnny?s current film in India, The Rum Diaries, to stall; he has found a new project with the Oscar nominated director Michael Mann. Mann?s new project is called Public Enemies. It is a depression-era film about the notorious criminals including the bank robber John Dillinger, which will be played by Johnny. According to the Associated Press, Mann and Johnny shook hands and made the deal on Wednesday before the Hollywood premiere of Sweeny Todd. This part will be no stretch for Johnny, who leans toward Dillenger’s style of Dress and cool attitude when it comes to the public eye. Among their other many similarities. So hold on to your hats because Johnny will start to film in Chicago in March..

The screenwriters’ strike in Hollywood, which first hit only television productions, is now also harming Shantaram.

Shantaram, which was scheduled to begin shooting in India in February, has been put on hold due to strike-related script issues that threatened to push production into India?s monsoon season.

Also put on hold for Depp is The Rum Diary, an adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson?s novel for Warner Independent Pictures. Bruce Robinson, whose 1987 comedy Withnail & I gained a cult following, was adapting and directing.

Rum, loosely based on Thompson?s experience working as a freelance journalist in Puerto Rico in the late 1950s, is in the development stages. Depp had planned to make the film after Shantaram.
Depp next appears on the big screen in Sweeney Todd, which premieres December 3 in New York.

Warner Brothers has confirmed Johnny’s participation in a Peter-Bogdanovich-directed documentary about Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. The 4-hour-long film titled “Running Down A Dream” will debut at the New York Film Festival on Oct. 14th.

Also in mid October a book with the same title will be released featuring some more material from the interviews shown in the film as well as more than 300 photos.

Previously the world wondered, if Vampires really exist, because Johnny still looks so good that he must be a Vampire.

Now it seems, he really is to become one.

Johnny Depp’s production company is – together with Warner Bros. and Graham King’s Initial Entertainment Group – planning a feature film based on the 60’s spooky soap “Dark Shadows”.

Johnny had said in interviews how much he likes the series, and maybe he’ll take the role of Barnabas Collins (previously played by Jonathan Frid) for himself.

As Variety reports Warner Bros has bought the movie rights for a book yet to be written about late former KGB agent Alexaner Litvinenko. Johnny’s production company Infinitum Nihil has signed a book option agreement for “THE AFFECTED PROVINCIAL’S COMPANION – vol. 1” by Lord Breaulove Swells Whimsy -“an eccentric, humorous and slightly bittersweet autobiographical account of the author’s life as a reclusive dandy and country gentleman. .”
