Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides by Martina

Pirates has already begun. Johnny was at Disney studios a week ago before returning to Venice to begin preparations on Pirates. The cast has been completed and only hiring some more extras remain. But the sets are already being built, Johnny’s new sword has been made and his new costume is almost completed!! Johnny’s costume will have at least three new pieces and or changes included and he insists on using his old boots that he shot in and already owns..(of course they will have extra).
The shooting will begin promptly after the Tourist reshoots are finished this next week (and Cannes maybe). We do not have an exact date on Johnny’s first day of shooting but the shooting schedule right now looks as if they will go from LA to Hawaii first and then to the UK. The whole shoot is scheduled to only last two months since the financial cutbacks only allow for half the time.

Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides by Martina

Filming for POTC 4 On Stranger Tides is starting very soon. Johnny was at Disney studios for two days last week for his fittings and meetings there. The black pearl left its harbor two weeks ago and set sail, for filming to begin. Johnny is still in Los Angeles but is thought to be gone very soon to begin filming.

Also some extra information-
Marty will not be in this POTC movie. Most of the crew is not going to be there. The script is going to be very different from anything they have done before.
Filming time will be cut in half to reach the release and post production dates that are set.
Parts of the movie will be filmed in Hawaii.

Dick Cook abruptly leaves Walt Disney Studios

Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides by Martina

Dick Cook, the longtime head of Walt Disney Studios, abruptly left the company Friday afternoon after 38 years. The studio has had an uneven box-office performance and has been struggling creatively. It lost money in its most recent financial quarter.
Cook was summoned into a meeting and was told the studio “wanted to go in a different direction,” said the person. A Disney spokesperson denied the report.

Concerning Pirates of the Caribbean 4 that development could mean nothing or everything.
Johnny Depp said while he has a potential deal in place that will depend on how good the script is, his passion for the project at the moment has been severely dampened by the news that Cook will no longer be around. Cook had called him in person to break the news.
The LA Times quotes Johnny: “There’s a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment. It was all born in that office.”
