The genius of Johnny Depp

Appearances Magazines by Martina

The Culling by D. Allan Kerr: The genius of Johnny Depp writes that Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow is genuine genius. What Johnny Depp has done here is inspiring – instead of sacrificing himself on the public altar to win over the masses, he has brought the masses to him.

He created something so original and with such panache that the entire world not only has to pay attention to it, they can’t get enough of it. By now the media has left little doubt Depp’s inventive portrayal of Capt. Jack Sparrow is the primary reason for the success of the “Pirates” films…

BBC NEWS – The first film was a global blockbuster and earned praise for its cast, especially Johnny Depp.

The movie has returned to its spiritual home: the film was based on a theme park ride at the children’s resort.

Truly, madly, Depply

Appearances by Martina

Has the success of the Pirates franchise trapped Johnny Depp in the mainstream fame he has avoided for so long? – by Stephanie Bunbury for The Age.

Just off the top of my head, here are three very good things about Johnny Depp:

(a) He is, as the Victorians used to say, as beautiful as the day.

(b) He isn’t stupid.

(c) He doesn’t say much.
