North Main street looked like Sioux Falls, S. D.
as filming continued Thursday. The Sioux Falls
Bank Security National Bank and Trust was robbed
by Dillinger and his gang in March 1934.
This scene involved a large scale gun battle which
includes hostages and where Depp himself is shot during
the scene, but gets up quickly to shoot an officer in
an upper floor window.
Film crews worked through lunch Thursday afternoon
hurrying to get as much done as possible as it
looked like it would rain. However, production
continued and completed about 6pm.
Depp fans had already started to line up around
3pm in hopes that Johnny would meet with fans again
as he did Monday and Wednesday. The several thousand
were rewarded as Depp came out of his trailer about
7pm and started shaking hands.
Lori Bilkey of Oshkosh had her two children in tow
waiting to meet Depp.
Depp asked Alex, 10 and Kaitlyn, 7, if they were
brother and sister because they looked alike.
“That was the coolest thing I’ve ever done,”
said Alex. His sister agreed adding that Depp
looked different than she thought he would.
Shooting will resume in downtown today and could
continue through Saturday. Several streets will
remain closed through then.
