Only a few weeks before Johnny’s 50th birthday, a 505 million-year-old fossil with “scissor hand-like” claws has been named after the Johnny Depp.
Kooteninchela deppi (pronounced Koo-ten-ee-che-la depp-eye) was named by the researcher David Legg after Johnny because of his starring role as Edward Scissorhands.
Mr. Legg can be forgiven – who can evade Johnny’s impact?
“In truth, I am also a bit of a Depp fan and so what better way to honour the man than to immortalise him as an ancient creature that once roamed the sea?”
(wasn’t that Captain Jack Sparrow already?)

I think it’s great Johnny has had this honour, but please don’t label him a ‘fossil’ Ha Ha.
