This year’s event will host hundreds of actors, directors, writers, producers and industry professionals from around the world who will be on hand to discuss their craft at screenings, panels, coffee talks and parties. Included in this year’s event is a series of five milestones, one of which is a tribute to jouralist/writer, Hunter S. Thompson who committed suicide last February and was remembered in a lavish ceremony just last August funded by Johnny Depp and others. The milestone will include:

Remembering the Legendary Gonzo Writer Hunter S. Thompson
Held at the historic Denver Press Club, the memorial will include remembrances from a panel of Hunter’s close friends and associates. Also featured will be the world premiere of filmmaker Wayne Ewing’s documentary profiling the recent outlandish funeral service in Woody Creek, CO. The author’s remains were shot out of a 153-foot cannon and rained down on family, friends and such Hollywood luminaries as Johnny Depp, Sean Penn, John Cusack and Bill Murray. Also included in the program, director Tom Thurman, working on a Starz original documentary about Thompson, will present recent interview footage with several of these luminaries. Alcohol and antics will be served.
