L.A.- and Beijing-based DMG Entertainment has inked a tie-in with Alcon Entertainment. It will finance, produce, and distribute the 2014 Johnny Depp-starrer “Transcendence,” which is now in production.
The two shingles have also agreed to do the same deal on the remake of “Point Break,” which is in late stage development at Alcon. DMG will distribute both pictures in China, while Warner Brothers will distribute in North America, DMG said in a statement.
