Thanks a lot to all the visitors taking part in our survey,
it was really very helpful.
43 visitors did take part.
I will go through some of the answers and telling you what we’re planning to do.
The survey told me, that all layouts are loved in an equal way. Some where more disliked than others, but there were always some of whom it was the favourite layout. So they will all stay.
I also got told, that some of them are not viewable in the Mac IE. That’s true, since I have it myself. The Mac IE does not understand valid xhtml, it is old and does make mistakes. I will see, if I can find a valid hack to make some extra code for it.
I got some ideas for future skins: lighter blue, one where you really see his eyes, award ceremonies and galleries/appearances, more skins with his characters, red, brighter and newer pics, Jake Chessum, Jack Sparrow, red and black, together with Vanessa, pink, no pink (<–haha, right after each other…).
So, yes, some character skins will come within the time, it was most wished, and brighter colors, yes, I’ll try my best. It looks always so much brighter on my very new Mac than on some PCs I used.
Only one did not like the long navigation, everybody else liked it, and the gallery navigation, too.
Favourite sections were most part the Johnny section, the galleries, the fanart and the quotes.
The most hated section was the encyclopedia, which I took out already.
For new sections I had the answers to get some more info about his family, UK stuff to the shop (yes, it’ll come, it just takes some time to add it). Character bio sections are a very great idea I got. Yes, I’d love to do that, I just have to find a free year to do that. Maybe someone would like to help’
I was asked to add more material to the articles section: yes, I’d like to do that. Sadly we asked around and sites with those interviews do not allow us to display them. That’s very sad.
I had many visitors writing, that they are in fact interested in writing something by themselves. If your English is good or not, that does not matter. There was also the question, that they don’t know what to write. I’ll tell you:
IF you are interested in writing reviews about his movies, summaries about his movies, info about Johnny and his family (f.e. a little Vanessa Paradis info site, sites about Johnny’s homes, trivia, anything coming into your mind, more details to the biography, they will be exchanged then), then PLEASE do it!! Start writing and send it in with your name. You can also write an email before with what you’d like to do.
Nearly all were satisfied with the news, only two told us there should be more news and new pics. I have to comment that with, that if there aren’t new pics of Johnny we can of course not post any.
And to answer that one question: no, Johnny does not have an official site.
I had one request to remove all the drawings. But there were some more loving exactly these drawings, so democratic result is that they stay.
The same for movie scripts, they are the favourites of some visitors.
And yes, videos will definately come back!!
About the fanlistings:
not many seem to understand what it is about and so don’t join.
Again a short explaination: it is NOTHING MORE than just a list where you can set yourself on to show “hey, I’m a fan”. That’s all the sense of it. Nothing more. But it is fun at the end.
I got the suggestion to do a jdorg myspace site. Uuh, I’m not used to such stuff, I don’t have one for myself, but I’ll see what I can do.
I also got a suggestion to have dvd compolations of interviews for sale, cause the visitor did not get them at their country, but sorry,
1. I do not get any of them either and 2. it is forbidden. I am not allowed to make money with a fansite.
A TV guide is in the board, and since I am not from every country I could not update it.
I took the consideration to seperate the galleries/magazines by country in my mind, I won’t seperate them completely, just maybe add the country to the headlines.
The timeline is a very good suggestion and in our plans!
AIM icons are already added, as well as the link back to the main site.
I am VERY glad to say, that nearly NOBODY requested pics of his kids and everyone respected Johnny Depp’s wish not to show them (not that I would have posted them if everybody had wanted them anyway, I was just curious). Only one asked to maybe do it with posting a warning and one even had it as suggestion for a new section.. But no, I won’t do it.
