Tim Burton has chose the Antony House in Torpoint,
Cornwall as the outside set of Alice in Wonderland.
Alice in Wonderland will be due for release in 2010
and will be 3D.
The house, garden and woodland of the Antony House
will be closed to the publis from September 1st to
October 14th for filming.
Rebecca Miller, of the National Trust, said:
“We are absolutely over the moon that Antony has
been chosen as a location for Tim Burton’s new film
Alice in Wonderland.
“One of the reasons it was chosen was because it’s
a hidden gem – it’s one of the trust’s lesser known
properties and they felt this fitted in very well
with the feel of the film.”
Over 3,000 people turned out in Plymouth, Devon for
casting calls last month even though there were only
250 places to be filled. Australian newcomer Mia
Wasikowsk will play the part of Alice.
