Plot Summary
Mort Rainey (played by Johnny Depp) is a successful mystery writer suffering from severe writers block while struggling through a nasty divorce, when he receives an unexpected knock at his door. A mysterious country man (John Turturro), who claims to be a writer from Mississippi , forwardly accuses Mort of plagiarism. When Mort denies his outlandish accusation, however, threats become more serious, sending Mort (and the viewer) spiraling through a series of near misses as the stranger becomes infinitely more violent. Little does Mort know that sooner or later, he would recognize certain characteristics of this mysterious villain as unusually familiar…
