Our deepest condolences go out to Eric Dane’s family, friends, and fans

Eric passed away on February 19, 2026, at age 53, following a courageous and public battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He fought with incredible strength, grace, and determination, becoming a passionate advocate for ALS awareness and research in his final months. As a devoted husband to Rebecca Gayheart and loving father to his daughters Billie and Georgia, Eric touched countless lives through his talent, warmth, and resilience. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy—as Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on Grey’s Anatomy, Cal Jacobs on Euphoria, and an inspiring voice for those facing similar challenges—will endure forever. Rest in peace, Eric. 🕊️❤️

Johnny has once again shown his amazing kindness by stepping up for a friend in need during such a difficult time. Recently, he opened the doors of one of his Los Angeles homes to actor Eric Dane, allowing him to stay rent-free—or pay what he could—to ease financial pressures as Eric focused on his health and time with loved ones.

Known for his iconic role in Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny made this generous offer to help lighten the load for Eric amid his ALS challenges. Johnny and Eric met several years ago through mutual friends, and their bond clearly ran deep. “As Eric faced his challenges, Johnny wanted to help lighten the load,” a source shared.

Eric, beloved for his charismatic roles in shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria, was open about his diagnosis and used his platform to raise vital awareness for the disease.
