The photos of Jack Sparrow’s costume. Kaede went to a theatre convention in Toronto, and she found a display of the ACTUAL Johnny Depp costumes in POTC1! She said it was amazing, there were security guards everywhere and cameras. Costume designed by: Penny Rose for Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (2003). Costume courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures. More information about the costume and the exhibition from Kaede:. It was called "50 Designers/50 Costumes: Concept to Character", and it was held in the Design Exchange studio in Toronto, Canada. It ran from February 12th, 2005 to April 19th, 2005. It’s main purpose was to showcase the art of costume design in contemporary film, and it had a lot of amazing costumes.. Some costumes present: Elena’s party dress from "The Mask of Zorro", Caroline’s dress from "Chocolat", Tyler Durden from "Fight Club", Commodus from "Gladiator", Dumbledore’s robe from "Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone" …. The exhibit itself was housed on the third floor of the studio. You were taken up in a secure elevator, with a temporary tour-guide. On the way up, the guide briefed everyone on the rules, which included "No flash photography" and "No touching the costumes." They were really intent on keeping the quality of the fabrics intact. Of course, there were security cameras everywhere, and a couple of studio personnel were keeping watch at the corners. -:). The costumes were spaced across the studio floor, and the pre-production sketches were hanging on the walls behind the costumes. All costumes were authentic builds, and, if not actually used within the movie, were duplicates that were held on stand-by during filming.
Thanks to Kaede for the pics
