Plot Summary
In classic western territory, post-Civil War, period, in 1869, lives a crime fighting duo, the Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) and his Native American sidekick, Tonto (Johnny Depp).

Deadline reported, that Walt Disney Pictures stopped the production on The Lone Ranger with Johnny as Tonto, because of “ballooning production costs and an increasingly expensive upcoming slate for the studio.”, much more than Disney wanted to spend.
Disney announced on Octoner 14th,2011 that the film is back on track, and the new release date is May 31, 2013. “Johnny Depp, Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski are such a talented combination and we’re thrilled to get back to work with them on The Lone Ranger,” a Disney spokesperson said.
