Rhys Ifans to Join Johnny Depp in Disney’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Sequel (Exclusive)

James Bobin is directing the sequel, which will co-star Sacha Baron Cohen as the villain

“The Amazing Spider-Man” villain Rhys Ifans has signed on to play Johnny Depp’s father in “Alice in Wonderland 2,” TheWrap has learned.

James Bobin (“The Muppets”) is directing the sequel, which will find Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter reprising their roles as Alice and the Red Queen, respectively. Sacha Baron Cohen will play a villain named Time.

“Black Mass” Movie Starring Johnny Depp to Film in North End

The movie “Black Mass” starring Johnny Depp will be filming in the North End on May 29th from 10am – 9pm around the Margaret Street area. The street will be closed for the day and be transformed into a 1970′s period set, including swapping out the street light to the old sodium vapor lamps. The set is also looking to move the sacred planters on the sidewalk.


Get Ready to Be Star-Struck – Filming for Black Mass with Johnny Depp starts this month in Southie

Filming for “Black Mass” – the film about notorious Southie mobster James “Whitey” Bulger – will begin at the end of this month. Johnny Depp has been casted as Bulger along with Australian actor Guy Pearce will play former Senate president Bill Bulger. Scott Cooper of “Crazy Heart” fame will direct the Cross Creek Pictures production.

Looking trough the credits of the new photos in the Interview Magazine we came across an entry for “Joel Harlow / The Milton Agency”. Looking through the client list of “The Milton Agency” we found a resume for Joel Harlow. That lists as his latest project a movie called “TUSK” and Harlow as Johnny’s personal makeup artist.

That way we found a discussion between users where somebody is wondering about casting Johnny because he knows the director.

So far we have no more details about the character Johnny might be playing, but we’ll keep you posted.

Alice In Wonderland sequel not based on Lewis Carroll’s book (exclusive)

ames Bobin, the director of ‘Through The Looking Glass’, says his sequel to 2010’s ‘Alice In Wonderland’ will not be based on Lewis Carroll’s source novel of the same name.

The British director, who was talking to Yahoo about his new movie ‘Muppets Most Wanted’, explained that the sequel would contain the same characters as Tim Burton’s original film but with an entirely new setting and story.

Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, and Helena Bonham Carter are all set to reprise their roles in the film which is scheduled for release in May 27, 2016.

Chuck E. Weiss Ropes In Johnny Depp and Tom Waits for ‘Red Beans and Weiss’

It’s been close to eight years since Chuck E. Weiss delivered his 23rd & Stout, but the veteran blues player is about to make his return. The solo artist’s punnily titled Red Beans and Weiss will be his first for new label home Anti-, and it hits stores April 15.

Weiss began work on the set back in the fall of 2012 following some encouragement from his friends Johnny Depp and Tom Waits, who both serve as executive producers on Red Beans and Weiss. Over the course of the next year and a half, Weiss wrote the record and split up recording sessions at Los Angeles studios the Village and Studio 80. Apparently, he thrived via a relaxed schedule with no real time constraints.
