Johnny was spotted in Lacock, Wiltshire, England for Fantastic Beasts 3.

Apparently, the production of Fantastic Beasts 3 has begun. As the title already says, Johnny was spotted in Lacock, Wiltshire in England to reprise his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the third Fantastic Beasts installment.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is scheduled for release in November 2020, continuing the pattern of the first film (November 2016) and its sequel (November 2018) but nothing has been confirmed yet. There are two more sequels to come, which means 5 Fantastic Beasts movies in total. We don’t know yet whether Johnny will appear as Grindelwald in the fourth and fifth movie though.

As the headline says, I marked this post as a rumor since it has NOT been confirmed whether Johnny’s stay in Lacock is connected to the start of production of Fantastic Beasts 3 or whether he was really seen at all. The news website reporting his appearances is Wiltshire Times.

The first movie still of Johnny as W. Eugene Smith in “Minamata” has been revealed.

Johnny can be seen in the black and white photograph with a beard, glasses, beret and holding a camera, portraying the celebrated war photographer W. Eugene Smith in his current movie project Minamata.

The movie is directed by Andrew Levitas (Lullaby) and is based on the Smith’s book, co-authored with his wife Aileen Mioko Smith, of the same name.

Bill Nighy has also been cast in the film, alongside Hiroyuki Sanada (Westworld), Minami Hinase (Vision), Tadanobu Asano (Midway), Ryo Kase (Letters from Iwo Jima) and Jun Kunimura (Midway).

The film will focus on Smith’s journey to Japan and has been billed as “a redemptive thriller” that pitts Smith against a powerful corporation responsible for poisoning the people of Minamata in 1971.

The first image has been added to our photo gallery. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, the rumors have been confirmed: Johnny Depp will not return as Captain Jack Sparrow in the coming Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Johnny’s tenure as Captain Jack Sparrow has officially come to an end, following a Disney executive’s confirmation that the actor will no longer be a part of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

The studio’s production chief, Sean Bailey, was speaking about the previously announced reboot – set to be written by Deadpool‘s Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese – when he was asked whether the series could survive without Johnny.

Rather than deny the reports, Bailey told The Hollywood Reporter:

“We want to bring in a new energy and vitality. I love the [Pirates] movies, but part of the reason Paul and Rhett are so interesting is that we want to give it a kick in the pants. And that’s what I’ve tasked them with.”

Johnny confirmed he will be back as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3.

As the title reveals, Johnny has just confirmed that he will reprise his villainous role as Gellert Grindelwald in the third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts film series.

As you probably already know (and can’t await!) the second film, The Crimes of Grindelwald, will be released on November 16, but producers are clearly already looking ahead to the next film in J.K. Rowling’s latest wizarding movie series. Johnny confirmed his involvement in the as-yet-untitled third film in a new interview, telling Collider that he and his fellow castmates will begin production on Fantastic Beasts 3 ‘in the middle of next year’. The actor said he relished the challenge of playing a villain in a fictional realm where ‘the possibilities… are wide open, so you can really try anything.’

I finally uploaded the latest two posters showing Johnny as Gellert Grindelwald in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald movie, which hits theaters November 16. Until then, enjoy the promotional features that are revealed by Warner Bros. in the meantime.

I’m sure some of you may have come across the name “Chick Purchase” already and are wrinkling their brows while reading this. Those familiar with Johnny’s filmography, especially his most recent movie projects, have probably already connected the name to one of Johnny’s latest projects: London Fields.

We are more than glad to tell you that the official marketing team has reached out to Johnny Depp Network to provide us, and therefore also YOU, with the first exclusive look of Johnny as Chick Purchase in London Fields (also starring Amber Heard, Jim Sturgess, Theo James, Jaimie Alexander and more). So, I hope you’re as excited as we were when we had our first glance at the official production stills of Johnny as Chick. For now, we’re sharing with you two movie stills showing Johnny. We’ve been provided with four more which we’re more than happy to show you in the course of time, so stay tuned. Also, make sure to check back for more information on Johnny’s character soon.

For those of you who haven’t heard of London Fields and what it’s about:

London Fields tells the story of clairvoyant femme fatale, Nicola Six, who has been living with a dark premonition of her impending death by murder. She begins a tangled love affair with three uniquely different men: one of whom she knows will be her murderer.

The movie hits theaters on October 26. For more information and the official trailer, make sure to visit the official website. A huge thank you to John from the official marketing team for providing us with the first sneak peek of Johnny as Chick.

The final official trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has been released.

I really suggest you simply go and see it for yourselves. The final trailer easily the darkest one yet and actually contains a couple big surprises. The headline coming out of this is that Claudia Kim’s character has been revealed and it’s a major name in the Harry Potter universe. The South Korean actress is playing Nagini — a human “Maledictus” who eventually becomes Lord Voldemort’s trusty snake. As we meet Nagini, she’s a member of the traveling Circus Arcanus where she puts on a very convincing transformation act for muggles. Check out EW’s exclusive new interview with Kim talking about her character here.

Another reveal: We see a glimpse of a flashback showing Dumbledore and Grindelwald back while they were students. That’s right, we now will have an even younger Dumbledore! It’s a brief shot in the trailer as they both touch the Mirror of Erised.

The trailer is also stuffed with magical action as an ensemble of characters prepare to contend with the dark wizard Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) following his escape from prison while being transferred to Europe. Grindelwald begins to gather followers using both seductive logic and menacing force.
