Fantastic Beasts also tops the list of Most Anticipated Fall Family Films.
Sadly, one of Johnny’s movie projects, the upcoming Notorious B.I.G. film City of Lies,” has been pulled has been pulled by Global Road Entertainment a month before it was slated to hit theaters.
The movie was scheduled to be released September 7, 2018 but is now undated, a spokesman for the distributor said Monday. The feature is based on the book “LAbyrinth,” which tells the story of the police investigation into the deaths of rappers Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.
Last month Johnny was sued by a location manager involved in the production who said the actor punched him. Those of you who know me, know that I do not give much about rumors, but I wanted to let you know that it is claimed, that this has got something to do with the movie’s probably delayed release.
Attention, little pirates. At the moment, rumors are making the rounds that Pirates 6 is officially in the works.
As the title says, it seems that Pirates of the Caribbean 6 may be officially moving forward — at the least that’s the latest rumor circling Disney’s popular swashbuckling adventure series, even as other rumors swirl about whether or not franchise star Johnny Depp will be returning.
Geeks World Wide dropped a report stating that Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is gearing up for pre-production, with Joachim Rønning expected to reprise his directing duties after the previous installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. It’s also reported that the script is being worked out by Ted Elliot, Terry Rossio and Jeff Nathanson, and that Nigel Phelps will be returning for production design.
The life of billionaire Matthew Mellon is considered to be made into a movie and Johnny is said to be interested to participate.
Matthew Mellon led a fast-paced life of privilege before his unexpected death in April at age 54, and now actor Johnny Depp is reportedly considering playing the banking heir in a potential film about his life.
The New York Post reports that Mellon’s family is “divided over the project,” which is in early stages as “a screenplay being shopped.” One source told the Post that if the film comes to fruition it could fulfill a dream of Matthew’s: “He would have loved this idea … He used to say, ‘How cool would it be to have a movie about my crazy life?'”
Mellon descended from the Mellon and Drexel families of Bank of New York Mellon and Drexel Burnham Lambert and reportedly came into trusts worth $25 million when he was just 21 years old. After graduating from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, he worked in fashion, telecommunications, and finance, most recently as global ambassador for the digital currency company Ripple Labs.
Cryptocurrency is how he turned his millions into a fortune that’s been valued at more than $1 billion, thanks in part to a savvy early investment in Bitcoin recommended to him by the Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler. He was also married twice—first to Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon and then to designer Nicole Hanley Mellon until mid-2015.
Draw your wands, Potterheads. The newest Comic-Con poster for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald teases teases a Comic-Con trailer that should arrive this morning during Warner Bros. Pictures’ Hall H panel. Fans who are waiting to get more sneak peeks at the movie only need a little more patience until that trailer goes live.
The poster released for Comic-Con shows Newt and his friends front and center, surrounded by magical symbols. Trailer-Track reports that a new full-length trailer for the movie was rated by the UK’s BBFC, which makes it almost sure that a new trailer will debut during the studio’s Hall H presentation at SDCC on Saturday, July 21.
Many fans wondered a lot about the first trailer for Fantastic Beasts 2 because it didn’t feature much of Johnny’s character Grindelwald. Being that the movie is about hunting him and his followers down, that seemed a little weird. Some speculated that Warner Bros. is downplaying Johnny’s role in the movie after domestic abuse allegations arose against him. Many speculated that the film has less to do with the character than initially thought. Then there are those who believe it’s because Grindelwald won’t become relevant to the franchise until later movies (there are plans for five in total).
Some fans also think it’s odd that Jude Law recently admitted that he has no scenes with Johnny in the new film. The Harry Potter books hinted that the two men once had a close relationship when younger, potentially a romantic one. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling also admitted that she always saw Dumbledore as gay. However, it seems that the movies plan on shying away from that, at least for now. For fans, the wait for a new trailer still feels like forever. After that, though, the wait for the movie will feel even longer. But winter will arrive before they know it, and with it comes the answers to at least some of these questions they have about Grindelwald, Dumbledore, and Newt and his fantastic creatures.
