The picture you can see on the left was taken in Russia last week, where Johnny had been touring with his band Hollywood Vampires before they headed over to Germany, where they’re currently performing. After a Johnny admirer posted this picture with Johnny on her Instagram account, statements such as “he looks ill” or “he looks so pale and skinny” have been making their rounds on several social media platforms. So, among comments from other fans who told them how lucky they were to have met their idol, were concerns over Johnny’s appearance.
Just to give you an example of how people reacted, comments like those were not uncommon:
‘I think that my hero looks ill,’ said one concerned admirer on Facebook.
‘He looks thin,’ said another.
Others did not seem to recognize the Pirates of the Caribbean star at all.
‘F*** me is that Johnny Depp?’ remarked one Twitter user.
Since I do not like spreading rumors, neither about one of his movie/music projects, nor about his personal stuff, I decided to share this nevertheless. I personally do accept his decisions and privacy etc. and I know very well how a certain angle of a photo or the light might make you look different . So, I read a lot of statements from people who have met him throughout the tour, confirming that he was all healthy and happy when meeting them. I’m asking you guys: please do NOT spread any rumors about health issues or whatever when there are none! Yes, it’s up to you to be concerned and worried when seeing someone losing weight or whatever, but Johnny seems to be fine, so please let your concerns stay concerns and not turn into rumors.
So, photographer Ross Halfin took two new photos of Johnny before he was leaving with the rest of the Hollywood Vampires members to finally start their tour. As always, they’re tagged, but I added them to the image archive.
So, Johnny and the Hollywood Vampires are finally touring again, starting with a great show at the Showroom at Turning Stone in Verona, USA on May 17. I added some pictures from the rehearsals (May 16) and during the show (May 17) to the photo gallery. Enjoy!
By the way, Johnny did not only play the guitar but sang a David Bowie song as well!
Great news, UK admirers! Hollywood Vampires have announced they’ll make their UK debut later this year.
They’ll be joined by special guests The Darkness and The Damned. Tickets, along with Meet & Greet VIP packages, will go on sale from 9am on Friday, February 9, via AXS. I will insert the official link on this post as soon as it’s possible.
The UK tour dates:

June 20 — London The SSE Arena Wembley
I added 28 LQ/MQ images of Johnny at the Lucky Strike Live concert in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday, January 31, hosted by the t-shirt brand to the stars, Agent Royale. He performed on stage alongside the rest of the Hollywood Vampires crew. Enjoy!
Alice Cooper says he, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry have written “a lot of new material” for their blistering new Vampires album, coming out in June.
The Vampires, Johnny, Joe, and Alice, started out as a tribute band, but this summer they are releasing an album featuring all-new, original, hard rock songs.
Alice Cooper announced to AZ Central, he, Johnny and Joe are recording their new Hollywood Vampires album from December 10 until February 26. That’s the space of time between Alice Cooper’s Pudding Concert and Alice’s return to his Paranormal Tour.
“I would imagine in that time that we’ll be going over to L.A. to record with the Vampires, because the Vampires, I think, are gonna go out in June.”
Alice Cooper described the album to AZ Central as a very hard rock album. Considering Johnny Depp and Joe Perry are providing two guitars as a strong backup for shock rocker Alice Cooper, that should be no surprise.
“It’s gonna be a hard-rock album. I know that. A very hard-rock album. Knowing those guys, their pedigree is hard rock. Joe Perry, Johnny and myself, we’re all sort of classic rock guys. So I think the songs will have a modern tinge to them but they’ll be pretty much classic guitar rock.”
