Yes, the waiting is over. We finally have some new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales posters showing Johnny as Captain Jack Sparrow again. Check them out!
New POTC 5 Posters
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales first made an appearance last October with a spooky teaser that featured Javier Bardem’s grotesque villain — but no Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). Well Capt. Jack is officially back, making a messy entrance at the tail end of a new trailer that just premiered during the Super Bowl. The fifth installment of the Pirates series will premiere on May 26.
“The dead have taken command of the sea. They’re searching for a Sparrow.” So says a spectral woman who explains what the ghostly Captain Salazar (Bardem) and his putrid crew are after as they maraud the high seas, searching for a powerful trinket called the Trident of Poseidon — and apparently, Depp’s dippy hero, the erstwhile captain of the Black Pearl. We catch glimpses of familiar faces like Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and a grizzled Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) before finally seeing Sparrow himself caked in grime and hoisting a bottle.
It’s all set to the tune of Johnny Cash’s “Ain’t No Grave,” a curious song choice, coming so soon after Cash’s cover of “Hurt” was used so memorably in the first trailer for the X-Men movie Logan. Does this mean Jack Sparrow will be getting serious too? Here’s hoping there’s still a pirate’s life in this pirate.
Disney has released the synopsis of Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 revealing the fate of Captain Jack Sparrow. Disney’s popular franchise will return after five years with the fifth installment to narrate another exhilarating tale of Johnny Depp’s iconic character as he gears up to wage a battle with the ghostly Captain Salazer.
Bardem’s character will wreck havoc on the ill fated Captain Jack after he escapes from the Devil’s Triangle. The only hope for Jack is to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon, which seems an impossible task considering Jack’s current miserable condition.
The lord of the sea, who was once sailing on the legendary Black Pearl, is now helming a small, dilapidated ship named the Dying Gull. It appears he needs major support from his uneasy allies including Carina Smyth and Henry. It is still unclear whether Captain Hector Barbossa will play a friend or a foe to the crushed Jack.
The synopsis reads: “The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazer (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea — notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Benton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitiful small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has never faced.”
Bit by bit, little hints and rumors are revealed regarding Johnny’s upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales movie, which will be released in 2017. Since he’s been missing in the first teaser trailer, fans are being concerned that he might not play a huge role in the movie at all. However, it appears that the producers intentionally took Capt. Jack Sparrow out of the trailer to catch the attention of the viewers.
The fans of Johnny Depp also known as Jack Sparrow can stop holding their breath as reports say that the endearingly naughty pirate will be present in Pirates Of The Caribbean 5. In fact, Capt. Jack Sparrow will reportedly have a new apple to his eye – his weakness, a woman.
Not much has been revealed about that though. Only rumors and hints have been published! Stay tuned for more. But more is certain about the aspect of love in the upcoming fifth Pirates movie.
Orlando Bloom’s character, Will Turner, will not be seen with the love of his life in the film. Elizabeth Swann, played by Keira Knightley, will not be returning in Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, which sparked speculations that Will Turner will have a new lady love.
The exit of Elizabeth Swann will be compensated by a new character, Carina Smyth. Kaya Scodelario will bring Carina Smyth to life, who is said to be Capt. Jack Sparrow’s lady love. However, Carina Smyth is – ironically – the daughter of Capt. Barbossa. Chaos ensues as Capt. Barbossa learns that his enemy is in love with his daughter.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will set sail on May 26, 2017 (US).
Last weekend, Disney unveiled the first trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which was met with an enthusiastic response from fans. To thank the millions who watched the trailer, director Joachim Rønning shared a special treat with his followers, a wanted poster featuring Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from Pirates of the Caribbean 5. While there was a wanted poster shown in the first trailer, the director showed off a different design through social media.
The director took to Instagram yesterday to share this poster, which features an artistic rendition of Jack Sparrow’s face. The poster shown in the trailer was quite similar, but it showed Jack’s fully body, with a sword in hand, as he stood on a dock. This new poster describes Jack as a “notorious pirate,” and while there is a bounty on his head, we can’t see the amount the bounty is for. Here’s what Joachim Ronning had to say to his Instagram followers.
A big thanks to the millions of you out there that have watched our new teaser trailer for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Dead Men Tell No Tales! I’m so grateful for your enthusiasm and comments. The last couple of days have really reminded me why I love movies – and why I wanted to make this one ❤️☠️ (link in bio) #potc5 #teaser #trailer #moretocome
I added the first official poster and movie still of the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie to the photo gallery. Hopefully, more will be published soon now that the first teaser trailer has been released! I found both images on IMDb. Enjoy!
Finally, the first teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales has been released. Unfortunately, the trailer comes without johnny in it.
The most interesting thing about this trailer is that A) it offers a grim, dark, and moody look as opposed to a more buoyant and comic sell and B) it features no Jack Sparrow whatsoever. Instead, it is a grim, violent tease which climaxes with the reveal of our major villain, played by Javier Bardem, who is hunting Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow for reasons not yet revealed. Whether or not his absence is related to the much-discussed domestic abuse allegations, it is a buzzy way to reintroduce a franchise that hasn’t been on the pop culture radar for awhile.
It’s obviously an announcement teaser, but it is rooted in the notion that merely the idea of Jack Sparrow showing up eventually is enough to get audiences interested. Moreover, it offers a proceeding 75 seconds or so that are intriguing and engaging enough to audiences sans knowledge of what movie is being sold.
Johnny took time out from shooting the next pirates file to visit children in a Brisbane hospital. The staff was asked not to publicize the visit, but photos and videos appeared on social media.
