Corpse Bride Oscar Contender?

Aug. 10, 2005 – The Hollywood Reporter – Martin A. Grove – Now that the Golden Globe and Oscar timetables have been announced it’s clear that a side effect of the Academy’s schedule changes will be to restore the Globes’ potential to influence Oscar voters as they make their nominations. In terms of films with awards potential that have already surfaced,[one] that come to mind is: “Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride” (Warner Bros.), directed by Tim Burton and with such voice talents as Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham-Carter, Emily Watson and Albert Finney. Opening wide Sept. 23, it’s a likely contender for Oscar’s best animated feature award.
